Vehicle Detail
I am Newer to Ebay. Just a Old Timer selling a Car I picked up at the Car show. I'm ready to find my next adventure and let someone else enjoy this beauty The Story is I attended a Car Show in Indianapolis and Fell in love with this Mercury Comet Convertible. It looked great on the lawn and the engine ran great. I bought the car and drove it back to my home 300 miles. This car attracts a crowd whenever I bring it to car shows due to the rarity of the car. When I bought it I wrote down all the facts the Chap that sold it me told me. So I will do my best to describe the Car 1963 was the first year of the S-22 convertible. Only 5757 were made that year. Although the exact number of S-22 four-speeds is unknown.DMV records show only 121 remain today. How many of those were convertibles is also unknown. What makes this car extremely rare is that most of the S-22 Cars had the 160 CI / 101 hp engine. This Convertible has the Original optioned 260 CI / 160 hp / V8 engine with a 4 speed transmission. It has alot of power and moves very fast. The condition of this car is Very Good. This Mercury Comet S-22 has badging on the exterior / on hubcaps / and on the steering wheel.Other notable features are the stainless steel trim that runs from front to back on both sides of the car, the chrome Gills on the quarter panels and the Six taillights (three on each side) as opposed to 4 taillights. The interior is all original with no rips and presents very well. The exterior is very nice with a 2-tone Carnival Red and Snow White which makes this Roadster look great. The Carnival Red Paint shines beautifully over a very straight and dent free body. The chrome bumpers present well but would be considered driver quality. The power top looks to be newer and goes up and down in less than 12 seconds, fits tight with no wrinkling at all.The boot is also in great condition with no tears or runs. All trim shines bright & has a crisp ,clean appearance. All gauges and features work properly The engine is nicely detailed and runs perfectly. I was told it was rebuilt and had less than 1000 miles on it. Probably why it runs great and sounds good combined with the exhaust. The Car Drives straight without any pulling and needs nothing at all.Tires are newer with white pin-striping. This car is suitable for long or short drives, any day or every day. I looked up the Values of this Car and this is What Nada SaysLow value------ $11,687.00Average Value--$21,750.00High Value------$37,500.00I would put this car between average and high value I'm out of breath. I will be available for inspection of the car. Please Email me if you have any questions. Someone will be getting a Rare Mercury Comet Convertible. Buy it before someone else does / Get Out There and Drive
