Vehicle Detail
Original California car with 71.6K original miles on chassis. Originally equipped with a 350 2-barrel V8, single exhaust, manual brakes, manual steering, manual windows, non-AC. No rust, no accidents ever, all original sheet metal except steel cowl induction hood. History Purchased by my friend and neighbor Dave ~10 years ago. Dave built the car for his wife, who used it as her daily commuter until her untimely death several years ago. Dave and I did all work to the car except the paint job, a high-end two-stage paint applied by a local shop. Updates included: Boysenberry pearl metallic (Dupont Chromabase) basecoat/clearcoat paint job with custom pinstriping by local pinstripe artist Herb Martinez. The paint has a few minor defects but is very presentable and shows well. I receive compliments on it all the time. GM 350 HO Deluxe crate motor, 330 HP, complete from carb to oil pan. Approximately 11K miles since installed. Holley electric choke carb /open-element air cleaner. Vortec iron fast-swirl combustion heads, 9.1:1 compression ratio. Always run on 91 octane, no knocks or pings. It powers the Nova beautifully. Very quick. Rebuilt TH 350 transmission with custom stall converter to match engine torque. Custom dual exhaust with stock exhaust manifolds feeding into unknown brand mufflers and crossover pipe. Car sounds great and engine is very responsive. Front disk brake conversion, MPP kit complete w/proportioning valve and new (stock height) spindles. 1971 Z28 Ralley wheels with new BFG Radial TA rubber (225 R15) all around. Monro-matic shock on all four corners Redone original bench seat interior redone with cloth hounds-tooth (?) and velour fabric. Interior shows some wear but is very presentable and comfortable for cruising. Autometer gauges to include fuel gauge, engine temperature gauge, oil pressure, What doesn’t Work ln-dash fuel gauge—probably the ground wire from the gauge but unknown at this timeNeed front lap seat belts (may take the ones from the rear seat and install in front) Gauge bezel rattles; its annoying but does not affect driveability Front left makes a clunk on extreme turning; probably a tie rod end but unknown at this time Why I'm selling This is a good honest old car that's alot of fun to drive. One of those cars that can sit for 6-8 weeks and will fire up first turn of the key. I recently had my daily driver in the shop and pressed the Nova into service for a month. It performed beautifully. However, I just don't drive this car enough anymore and would like to see it go to someone who could enjoy it and make it theirs. It's a great base to use as is or modify slightly to get show ready. Reserve price not much higher than minimum opening bid.
