This is a great running BMW R65! I think it is one of the best years for this model. It has the later, higher horsepower engine, but before BMW changed over to the mono lever shock system. This is a very reliable machine that starts every time you push the button. This is a smaller frame bike that is lighter than the R 80 or R100 and handles great. Even though it is not as large, it would still make a grate touring machine. It revs higher and I think it feels a bit more sporting than the larger bikes. The good: LOW miles. New starter New Battery New tires Fluids regularly changed since I have had it. Last done in Fall before bike was put away. Valves adjusted, etc. I added a fly screen to the front. I just thought it smoothed out the appearance a bit. Easily removed if you don’t like it. I got this bike to ride while my R75/5 was running in. I wanted something I could ride at highway speeds until the other bike was ready to travel above 4000 rpm. Now my other bike is broken in so this one is ready to sell. I did everything to bring this bike up to standard so it could be ridden anywhere. The bad… Well, I backed another bike into the BMW when I was moving it around in the garage and I put a dent in the tank. It was a very gentle push from the luggage rack on my MZ but you can see the result… Maybe it can be easily pulled out, I don’t know. I am not very knowledgeable about bodywork practices. Other than that It is in nice shape… Just park it with the left side against the wall- nobody will notice... right? J This is a nice reliable machine that stands ready to take you wherever you would like to go! But, if you don't come pick the bike up in person, you might give this shipping company a try.
