You're looking at an incredibly under restored, (in a good way! :) unmangled, unrusted 71 Camper still covered in 90% or more of its original pearl white paint, one of the best VW stock colors. Volkswagen agreed as they used this flagship color in their sales brochure back when it was new :) The bus runs well, with what appears to be the original upright motor and drive train. Turn the key and off it goes. She does need the once over, a few items like brakes, battery check, windshield glass, tires checks etc.. before any road trip action but is seriously probably only an afternoons away from camping and attending shows and cookouts throughout the landscape. We use it today around our backwoods town and as the coolest guest room anyone has ever seen! A few blemishes as the pictures show from the use its seen over the years as a true camper for the last near 50 years. Interior is uncommonly well cared for and original. The previous owners cared a lot about this bus, as most VW folks do, and were sure to maintain the originality of the elements that mattered most. Original to this bus service booklet from 1971 in tact and included with records of this buss's very first check-up.. how cool! Could use some body work to get perfect, see dent on left side, some surface rust/paint blemishes as seen in pics, or could be exceptionally useful as is, your call. Does not NEED any bodywork or metal repair to use as is, its extremely solid all around and ready to go in that regard. Truthfully the patina gives her charm in my opinion. Jump seat, Fridge and Sink in great shape, with clean water reservoir. All camper upholstery is excellent for its age, and camper z-bed works as it should. Original linoleum floor in perfect shape! Lights work, no radio, pop top in decent immediately serviceable shape with intact screens. You could be camping in this thing the dame day of getting her home, and on the road shortly there after, or go full restore if that's what you're after. The underside of this but is in amazing shape, and all the typical 'problem areas' on buss's are rust free and super solid on this one. A restored example will run you in the mid-high 20's, and scare you of driving in the woods. This has seen the road, has been to the concerts, and likely provided some 'refuge' to multiple generations of all sorts of people and is ready to keep on doing just that. Be prepared to hear stories of 'when I had one...' at every stop, and meeting all sorts of people with a memory of the old camper days. I genuinely hope she finds the right home, continues to be cared for so respectfully. Of course, just let me know if you've got any questions!
