Vehicle Detail

1970 Cougar that spent much of its life in a Barn, Was tabbed in 1996 to take a Dolly ride from a Barn to a lean to shed. and has been there ever since. 351 CLEVELAND Raw V8 POWER with an FMX Transmission pushing power to a Posi 9 inch rear end.Power Brakes/Disc BrakesPower steeringI replaced the... Fuel PumpFuel Line,Battery, Solenoid,Radiator Hoses and a Trans cooling lineLug nutsOnce it turned over and got fuel it started right up and ran like a large wild Cat. The glass packs that are installed helped as well I think. The carb has been empty for decades so may need rebuilding or the fuel now in it may expand the seals. It was running great but the accelerator pump was not getting a good seal but can compensate with the choke.will need a few Bulbs .The headlights go up and down like new.Odometer reads 35,000 and could be accurate. Most of the damage i have seen has been from aging and not use. THESE ARE VERY OLD TIRES!!! While the old Magnesium Wheels are cool ...DO NOT Drive anywhere with these tires!!! I would not recommend driving on tires even half as old..The original owner liked these wheels so much they put on 3 types of locking lug nuts.. There was only the key for one so I left it but the others I replaced Nice solid body with minimal surface rust bubbling and old factory crazing paint. No Bondo but a little exposed metal so I shot it with a quick primer. Paint stock or your own choice... Or drive it as is. Even has clean wheel wells and Trunk. Original trunk insulation and pad.Factory scoop sitting in place. It was in the trunk as the mounting studs need to be replaced.Dash has a crack but a CLEAN Factory dash included in the trunk. Also have the steering and dash cover plates. Factory like new in the trunk...To include the factory radio dash plate..In the trunk as well.. Rare Houndstooth interior. Will need some interior work. Mainly on the headliner, carpet and front seats. ALL in all it will take very little to get the same feeling it had coming off the Dealers Showroom Floor.Don't get left behind .THIS IS ONE WICKED BEAST!!!. They don't come like this every day... Hardly EVER!Good luck and happy bidding!Julie On Feb-28-16 at 14:22:45 PST, seller added the following information: I added the underside photo of the scoop a few people messaged me about. .. As you can see there is no damage.. The studs just need to be replaced. OH! and I also forgot to say.......NO RESERVE!!!! :D On Mar-01-16 at 19:04:20 PST, seller added the following information: People keep asking if there are any rust holes on the body. There are NONE! This body is VERY CLEAN!! Save $20,000+ in restoration costs just starting your project with THIS car!!!Also getting asked if it runs...Like a MONSTER BEAST!!! Change nothing and it will still be the coolest car in your neighborhood!!! On Mar-02-16 at 08:53:47 PST, seller added the following information: CARBURETOR UPDATE!!!.. AFTER SITTING WITH FUEL IN THE BOWL FOR A FEW WEEKS IT IS NOW WORKING JUST FINE!!! ....MORE LIKE WICKED!!!!YOU CAN NOW JUST CLIMB IN,TAP THE KEY AND GO GO GO!!!...(BUT NOT ON THESE ANCIENT TIRES..Lol.) BUT... WHILE IT RUNS OUT GREAT IT IS DECADES PAST ITS LAST OIL CHANGE, TUNE UP AND TRANSMISSION SERVICE. WHILE IT IS FUN TO BE FLYING THIS MACHINE ONE SHOULD SLOW DOWN LONG ENOUGH TO GET THAT STUFF DONE :)ASIDE FROM THE ITEMS I REPLACED AND THE EXPOSED METAL I PROTECTED I WANTED TO TURN THIS FANTASTIC EXAMPLE OF DETROIT MUSCLE OVER TO YOU UNMOLESTED...On Mar-02-16 at 11:27:01 PST, seller added the following information: My Other half told me a Bidders Brother came to inspect the car for his Brother back east today and totally checked it inside out upside down and checked the drivetrain.. even doing a compression check. But when he told me of the inspection...I was reminded me of what my body guy told me when I had it there.. He told me that everything looked fantastic underneath except for one small exterior unibody plate that needed a quick weld. He found the spot and agreed with my Body guy. So... One small rust spot...AND..drivers door hinge could have seen less fantasy drives by kids in the barn. It opens and closes fine but is slightly loose. Otherwise rave reviews by The Bidders Brother who is a Mechanic as well.... I will disclose EVERY additional thing that is found. I want the new owner to be completely happy with it and Treasure it as it should be Treasured!!!On Mar-04-16 at 22:15:39 PST, seller added the following information: I took it up and down the street today..Yup...Even with those tires..Lol. It drove like new and Ran & shifted Powerfully!!!The throaty ROAR from the dualed off Glass Packs didn't hurt either :D :D :D !!!The winning bidder is going to have more fun than they have had in Years!!!
