Feast your eyes on this bute! On the selling block is this fine example of a 1978 Ford Ltd Coupe. I will start by saying that if you're looking for a car that'll blend in with the crowd while making Eco freaks and Al Gore happy, you might wanna hit the back button now. However, if you're looking for a car that gets the respect and attention its demands while cruising the streets, all the while screaming "Because America!" and reminding you of the good ole days, then keep reading on, you're in the right place. This fine piece of automotive history wears a newer coat of brown metallic paint, and the body of this beauty is in next to show quality with only minor chips and scratches. In fact the paint appears to be the only not original part of this beast. There is absolutely no rust or rot to be spotted anywhere around this car, thanks the previous (and current) meticulous care spent, and the dealer installed rust treatment. All the body lines are even and straight. It was daily driven and enjoyed in the spring through fall, but now resides in hibernation in heated storage. Drivetrain wise there really isn't much to say. It is an all original 302 2-bbl automatic blah blah blah. She starts up and runs flawlessly every time. It doesn't matter if it's been a month or a day, no problems starting anytime. That being said it is a little lacking in the horsepower department, purely due to the 19 feet of legendary awesomeness she's moving about. She won't win you any street races, but highway cruising has never been more fine than in this land yacht. Forget what you know about comfortable and roomy interiors, this is where the two truly come together. The interior is better than to be expected for a car of its age, but could still use some TLC. The dash and headliner are original and absolutely mint no cracks or fading at all. The la-z-boy style bench seats are showing some age, but are still in good shape. They have lots of life in them. The carpet, however is fairly brittle and should could use a replacement. Amidst the chrome and faux wood grain on the dash panel you will find a working...wait for it...am/fm 8 track stereo. So why brown on brown on brown? Because America. Why 19 feet long and 6.5 feet wide? Because America. Why bench seats meant for 3 but big enough for 5? Because America. Why a trunk that can fit atleast 8 bodies? Because New Jersey, but also because America. Why do you want to buy this? Because you're a true American! So be American and buy American.
