Vehicle Detail

Here is very nice car that I guarantee will immediately start a conversation at any vintage car gathering, large or small. It seems that everyone either owned one or knew someone that did, and all agree that these were great little cars that provided great basic transportation for which they were produced. Today some 40 plus years later, people are also realizing, especially with the Grabber package, they are a rather good looking sporty car. This particular Maverick came off the assembly line with the 200 cu. in. 6 cylinder engine with the c-4 automatic transmission, and Ford 8" 279 rear end. It is an original Virginia car that was a father and son project over 12 years ago. At this time all the Grabber specific parts were installed, and the car was painted in the original Bahama Blue color, and a complete new interior was installed from headliner to carpeting. The body is super straight with no signs of patchwork on body or floors or any collision repairs. The paint is very nice with a slick glossy finish with no orange peel. There is however a couple issues in the paint. One is in the center of the top about 6" rear from the top of the windshield, and is an area of about 1 1/2"X2" and the other at the driver door bottom. Neither real noticeable unless pointed out. They are shown in the 2 photos. The chrome on the bumpers have good shine, but have some pitting. All of the stainless and aluminum trim on the car is real nice. It has a JVC radio with CD player. The seats were very professionally done in a soft Charcoal, and Black cloth and vinyl. Mechanically, the car received a Maverick front disc brake conversion with all new parts. The front suspension was completely rebuilt. The rear brakes, also redone. New exhaust system installed, and still looks new.. After all of this, the project was abandoned due to the son finding a Mustang Cobra. As a result, the car sat in their garage for 10 years when I purchased it almost 2 years ago. After purchasing, I installed a rebuilt 87 Mustang 5.0 HO engine with a rebuilt C-4 transmission. Converted the ignition to Ford's Duraspark II transistorized setup. Installed a completely rebuilt power steering setup. A thermostatically controlled electric fan was installed with a digital temperature gage. The wheels are Ridlers 17X7 and 17X8. The tires are Falkens 235/45 front, 235/55 rear. You will also notice, I installed a pair of Mercury Bobcat tailights, which are very rare. No extra holes or any cutting were involved in installing them. I have the originals that will come with the car I have only put about 200 miles on this car since owning it. Here is a car that you can get into the vintage car hobby without breaking the bank. You can be proud to take it to the local car shows, and cruises and watch people gravitate to it. I am 70 years old and been involved in the old car hobby all my life, and owned many including Shelby Mustangs, and Corvettes, and this car will get as many if not more thumbs up and smiles then the high dollar cars. I have tried to describe this car the best I can, but could have missed something, so please ask questions, and if you want I can take more pictures. Just let me know. I am selling this car to reduce my vintage car collection down to two, because maintenance and upkeep is becoming more difficult for me at my age. It, like most others on this site is being offered in as is condition, with no guarantees expressed or implied. Please do not bid on this car unless you have immediate funds on hand to purchase. I am not a dealer, so can not finance you. If you have less than 5 feedbacks you must call me @ 502-839-8556 before bidding, or I WILL DELETE your bid. Winning bidder must make a $500.00 paypal deposit within 24 hrs. from end of listing. Balance must be paid by a Certified bank check or money wire transfer within 3 days from end of listing. Due to the winter months, I will give you plenty of time to pick up the car. Shipping must be arranged by and paid for by buyer. Car with clear title in my name will only be released after all checks have cleared my bank, or only after wired funds have shown to be deposited in my account.
