Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my 1976 Honda CB750 motorcycle. The bike comes with a Vetter Windjammer, lower shields, storage box and saddle boxes. The cycle currently does not run because the battery is dead from sitting for a long time in a dry garage. Some fresh gas, clean carbs and a new battery and it will probably fire right up. The engine is not froze or stuck and has great compression. It ran nice when last put away. Just got a new toy and haven't used this one at all. As you might imagine there are a few small issues that will need to be addressed before she is road worthy again. The tires are dry cracked and will need replaced. As you can see from the pictures I started to pull the starter switch off the bike and replace it. I have a BRAND NEW replacement for it that will go with the bike. The front brake caliper will also need some attention. I didn't clean the bike other than spray it off with a hose so there is some VERY LIGHT rust in the cracks and corners but definitely nothing major. Some light steel wool will polish it right up. There is also a crack in the left side cover but it still attaches nice and tight. Those are really the only bad points to the bike. Now for the good points. As you can see from the pictures it is pretty good shape for a 40 year old girl. The seat is in good condition with no tears or holes. All the rubber grips and pegs are good with minimal wear. The gas tank is super clean inside with no visible rust. The exterior of the tank has no dents but the paint is just a little faded on top which is usual. All electronics worked fine when stored so I assume they are all ok. No dents in the chrome fenders and they shine really well yet. The exhaust is not original to the bike but is a good after market make that is holding up great. There is only minimal chrome flaking in a few spots but everything is solid with no holes. I just noticed that I forgot to re-install the air box and filter before I took pictures. I was checking it and forgot to put it back on. It will come with the bike of course. All and all a really nice old cruiser that will be a great ride again with just a little work!!! I have a clean Ohio title in my name ready to sign over to the new owner. There is one ignition key and the storage box key. I also have the original owners manual. The bike is being sold AS-IS due to the age. I WILL NOT SHIP THE BIKE. It will be pick up only unless the new owner wants to schedule a truck to pick it up. The only thing I will agree to do is open the garage door for them. There will be a $200 dollar NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due within 24 hours of auction end. The remainder will be due in CASH at the time of pick-up. THIS IS A GREAT OLD GIRL THAT DESERVES TO BE BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN. SPRING IS NOT THAT FAR AWAY SO DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A NICE CLASSIC RIDE!!!
