800x600 1971 Monte Carlo SS 454 The 71 Monte SS the most sought Monte from the muscle car era. This 1971 Monte Carlo SS has been in my family since 1972. I have personally owned this vehicle since 1996. The car was restored in 1997 from local shops and is an excellent example of a well maintained car that has not been drastically changed or abused in any way. Repairs and parts replacement were all completed with originality in mind, and extensive efforts have been made to keep this car looking and feeling as original as possible. A copy of the window sticker is shown below which shows all the options from the factory that the car is equipped with. The car has 99,126 original miles, the 454/365 HP LS5 matching numbers engine was rebuilt (7/03) at 95,169 miles for street performance/new technology which included new cam, lifters, rings, bearings, timing chain, all internal gaskets, electronic MSD distributor, aluminum heads, and intake manifold. The engine is rated at 480 HP. As you can see in the pictures the plan was to make engine appear as close to original as possible. I have the original parts, heads, intake manifold, carburetor, cam, distributor, and air intake. The Turbo Hydra-matic 400 transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit and stall converter delivering maximum power to the rebuilt 12 bolt limited slip differential positraction axle rear with 383 gears. The body has been painted with the original color Cottonwood green with all new chrome trim. The interior is original in excellent condition with the original AM 8 track radio. The glass is all original tinted glass from the factory. This car has never been in an accident. It is in excellent condition and a strong performance muscle car.
