I own a repair garage in Cranford NJ. Occasionally I have the opportunity to purchase a vehicle from a customer, make the needed repairs and re sell the car. This 2004 Sequoia was purchased from a long standing customer so I have many years of service records. The original engine overheated and partially seized, it did restart but damage was done and they did not want to entertain replacing an engine. I purchased the car and replaced the engine with a lower mileage unit from a salvage yard, mileage of the engine used was advertised at only 66k. The engine runs silently with no smoke or unusual noises. I replaced the timing belt, hydraulic tensioner, all timing belt pulleys and the water pump. Also replaced was the thermostat , engine coolant, new Iridium spark plugs, one post cat oxygen sensor and fresh oil and filter. I'm very satisfied with the repair. I'm not aware of anything not functional with the vehicle, it is well equipped as a Limited model, sunroof, trailer tow, heated seats, multi disc cd etc. As I stated above it has numerous superficial dings ,dents and paint imperfections. None of which are serious. Small rust area in drivers side inner wheel well, this can be seen when door is opened , not rusted through I mention this more for full disclosure. the underside of the vehicle is solid and essentially dry of leaks for a vehicle with 129k.
