1956 MG MGA ROADSTER CONVERTIBLE that is a FUN DRIVER. 1956 was the first model year for the MGA in America but offered in England in mid 1955. Has original U.S. left hand thin steering wheel. Has almost new black vinyl convertible top with unrestored side windows and newer shiny steel exhaust system. Engine runs fine, I don't know if it was ever rebuilt but probably was at sometime, does not smoke and is hitting on all four cylinders. Oil pressure and water temperature are good as those gauges work. Speedometer and trip odometer works too, steering is tight, road ride is normal, a real sports car feel. This is a 4 cylinder engine with a 4 speed manual transmission on the floor. It has a slight syncronizer noise when in neutral but clutch is good and shifts normal to me for a 60 year old sports car. Good shiny red paint done several years ago. Bodywork is good with no rust. Driver side rocker panel, fender, door not aligned properly as shown in pics. This gets all the waves and looks and is a fun driver, not a show car. It has some gauges working and some not. Lights not working other than brake lights as I have never driven it after dark and have not bothered to find out details. This a good inexpensive car to get started with and not a concourse winner. The black interior is pretty okay but not perfect either as again shown in pics (I did not vacuum before pics were taken). You can work on it this winter if you want to make it better. I have received some emails questioning the 1600 emblems on the car and what engine it has or what year it even is. Some character says it is a 1955 and another says it is a 1960 or 61, so much for the fricking experts. All I can say is it is cleanly titled and insured in my name in Maryland USA as a 1956 MG MGA CONVERTIBLE and it was titled to the previous owner in Maryland for 8+ years too as a 1956 MG MGA CONVERTIBLE. If it is something else or a composite of different engine or body emblems I don't care. YOU ARE BUYING IT AS YOU SEE IT WITH A CLEAN MARYLAND TITLE FROM ME as titled and if it is something else I don't want to here about it later.
