Vehicle Detail

Listed with NO RESERVE, just in time to make this the ultimate holiday gift (to yourself or to someone special to you), this listing is for a 1957 Ford Thunderdbird. Its a solid example of this all time classic vehicle. It's a D-Code, with a 312 V8, automatic transmission, power windows, power brakes and power steering. It's got both a hard top as well as a nearly new convertible soft top. The Kelsey Hayes wire wheels are brand new and it has 2 brand new Coker tires. The muffler system, while a bit throaty for my taste, is new as you can see in the photos and was put on by the previous owner. The chrome and trim on this car is in nice shape, especially the bumpers. The interior is in tact, and aside from the gas guage, all the rest of the guages and electronics of the car are working. The previous owner also had the engine and transmission rebuilt, so the car runs fine and has pretty good power. The undercarriage of the car is clean and bone dry as you can see from the photos. It is a gun metal gray coded car, but as you can see has been painted a champagne silver color. Its not an original color for a 1957 Thunderbird.......but it should have been. This car is gorgeous and demands more attention in this color than any of the previous six 1957 T-birds that I have owned. This certainly is not a show car, but is what I would fairly say is a nice 20-footer. It could use a re-spray to take it up a notch if that's something you'd be interested in doing, especially around the lower door, rocker panel area. But if you want to return it to its gun metal gray color, you'd have to re-spray it anyway. Other issues with the car include it needing side windows since they both have cracks. The front brakes, specifically the bearings on the front passenger side need work since they vibrate when you press the brakes to bring the car to a stop. The hard top is in good shape, but I'd change the weather stripping around the edges, as the rubber has gotten brittle after almost 60 years. Overall, this car is a driver and not a trailer queen. But with a modest amount of time, attention and a few dollars, this could be a really sharp car. And with it being offered with NO RESERVE, this could be the golden (actually, silver) opportunity of a lifetime.
