Vehicle Detail
This is a very well preserved 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier. It runs as good as it looks. I believe it is all original. Nice solid body that has not been restored. The transmission is the rarer 4 speed manual and it shifts nice. The interior fabric is pristine. Even the cover for the spare tire is in nice condition. It is a 6 passenger as there is no rear facing center seat. If you know the Corvair then I do not need to tell or show you all the plus features of this van. I will take any photo you desire but I need a good email address to send the photo. I am selling it because I have too many irons and this wonderful van needs a deserving home. Title is clean and clear. Serious inquiries only please. I don't have to sell it but I would like to see it appreciated. Will consider trade of a good 4 x 4 pickup truck or ? Here is some historical info about the Corvair: Chevrolet introduced the Corvair lineup for the 1960 model year as the first of a series of generations of passenger compact cars. Chevrolet introduced a more utilitarian style of vehicle the following year under the model designation "Corvair 95". In appearance and design the vehicles were similar to the competing Volkswagen Transporter, which was essentially a bus-like adaptation of the Volkswagen Beetle that moved the driver over the front wheels (Forward control), also commonly defined as a cab over vehicle. The Corvair air-cooled horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine was located in the rear of the vehicle under a slightly raised cargo floor. It was similar in principle to the 4-cylinder engine of the Volkswagen, but unusual for most contemporary cars. The 145 cu in (2,375 cc) engine developed 80 hp (60 kW) at 4,400 rpm. Engine size was increased to 164 cu in (2,683 cc) for the 1964 model year, raising output to 95 hp (71 kW). Unlike the Corvair cars, the Corvair Greenbrier had a 95 in (2,400 mm) wheelbase and were thus known as "95s." They came standard with a three-speed manual transmission but could be ordered with a two-speed Corvair Powerglide automatic transmission (distinct from the usual Powerglide); eventually a four-speed manual was also made available. On Dec-24-15 at 09:43:39 PST, seller added the following information: I have added a few more photos due to questions from around the world. The knobs and levers on the dash all work and work well. The lights all work, turn signals flash, heater fan blows. wipers work when I push the button in center of switch (2 speeds). The doors all open and close like new. Love that sound of a well fitted door. The seals on the doors and windows are in nice condition. (added 2 photos)All the windows are fine and every window that is supposed to open does and works well. Cranks turn easily.I searched and found 1 rust through spot that is located under the right front door. It is very narrow and short. (see photo)I took a photo of it with a ruler next to it. I measured in metric since the question came from Europe. Either way it is small. The engine runs well and does drip oil on the garage floor. I posted a photo of the bottom side of the engine pans.I do not know if it burns oil as I have not used it as a driver car. There is a photo of the plate under the dash showing the Paint and Trim codes. There is also an Owners Manual in the glove box in the dash. (see photo)History shows it is obvious it has not had hard use. Even the seats are still nice. Let me know if you desire additional photos or information.
