For sale is a partially restored and complete 1957 Cadillac Coupe Deville, rebuilt engine, with low-mileage rebuilt transmission, much (but not all) re-plated chrome to include front and rear bumpers and Dagmars. Mileage is unknown. Owner started the restoration in 1990, and owing to lack of funds and now health issues, cannot finish the project. The 365 cubic inch engine was rebuilt in approx. 1999 and never ran. The automatic transmission leaked badly and was rebuilt in 1990 and has several thousand miles on it but was in good condition when the restoration was started. Much body work has been done and has been primed since approx. 1999, and the car was originally alpine white (Color #12). The interior was not started, but much is in OK shape such as the head liner and door cards. Much of the chrome trim (a considerable amount on this car) was in good shape, and has been removed and packaged to preserve the surface. The front and rear bumpers along with many other parts have been re-chromed and were never unpacked from the plating company's original packing material, this re-plating work was done in approx 1992. These re-chromed parts look virtually brand new. This car has been in the owner's possession since 1975, and he has a clear title. It has been parked inside a heated garage for the 40 years he has owned it, and very little rust is present. Some surface rust is on the front driver floor pan, but not really a structural issue. The rest of the car has been kept in great condition. All parts are present and in boxes with the exception of a single piece of the front grill cross sections. The passenger front window has a crack in it, but otherwise the glass is all there. Successful bidder must pay via PayPal a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of the listing. The balance must be paid within 7 calendar days of the end of the listing. This car is for sale "as is, where is," and buyer must arrange for transportation from where the car is currently located (Elgin, Illinois). Seller will assist the buyer in loading the car and all parts upon purchaser's transport arrival in Elgin, IL.On Dec-13-15 at 08:59:49 PST, seller added the following information: Important Note: This car is disassembled to a significant degree - the front quarter panels, hood, trunk lid, chrome bumpers and other large, heavy parts are loose and need to be secured for shipment. This is the responsibility of the buyer. Most transport drivers will not pack up parts and tie down large assemblies such as loose fenders and bumpers. Accordingly, please plan to spend time packing boxes, large parts, etc. onto your trailer. This car is not mine, and I can loosely bolt on the quarter panels, hood, trunk lid and driver door and load the loose parts into the car for $375.00 to be paid via PayPal prior to arrival of transport. If winning bidder opts NOT to pay for these services, please make arrangements for the removal of the larger parts and boxes of loose parts with your transport agent. Seller will assist in loading boxes and car onto the trailer, but only to a minimal extent.
