1972 Saab Sonett III VIN number: 97725001409 (doesn’t have a 17 digit one) Odometer does not work and reads 81458 -- real mileage unknown This classic car runs well and looks good. The engine has recently been tuned. The clutch master and slave cylinders were just replaced and the gas tank also recently removed and cleaned. However, the gas gauge is nonfunctional. Many other electrical parts are inop such as radio, horn, fog lights, instrument lights and intermittent head lights (grounding is a problem for all probably because of the fiberglass body). Other recent work includes new fuel pump, inside headliner, and emergency brakes repaired. There is rust underneath (see photos). Mufflers are custom ones and sound much like 1960's glass packs upon engine windup. Turn signals work manually, but flasher unit is inop. The inside door lock on driver side is missing, but outside door locks work OK. I bought it one year ago as a hobby car, but, not being a mechanic or electrician, I have run out of steam after working on it off and on.
