NO RESERVE. Classic 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup truck with some restoration work already done. honest seller. happy to answer any questions promptly. I have posted the good AND the bad - so no big surprises. Note: some of the pics are from the past 18 months, so look to the youtube vids for current state of the truck as these vids were made this summer. Purchased by me on ebay about 2 years ago from a professional restorer who started working on it and then sold it to me before he was done. body primed. some spots started to flake over time to I sprayed rustoleum rust converter on them to be safe. most, if not all, of the underside was undercoated. v8 engine runs - someone swapped it in as the vin says it is a 6 cyl (as most were). engine itself runs smooth with just a little bit of smoke if revved up.could use a new carb, or rebuild the one on it - might be the choke - it sometimes needs some starting fluid to turn it over. dual exhaust - sounds beefy 4 speed trans shifts (might have been rebuilt - looks like it was painted for sure) 'shifter' itself works, but can't 'find' reverse. when the shifter is disconnected the trans does shift into reverse and works, so the trans works, it is the shifter which needs to be rebuilt or replaced brakes work odometer shows 46,000+-, but who knows for sure. needs wiring for lights - will sell kit for $500 extra passenger door could use a new hinge/bolts (I think) because the door drops just a little once you open it. but door does close securely. glass is all there, but some chips in windshield and cracks in side glass. rust on inside floor panels and bottom of doors on the inside, but not visible from the outside. might be able to be patched with parts from lmc truck. driver side fender needs adjustment. the previous owner spot welded the bottom of the front fenders in place, but the welds broke on the cross country trip via a carrier. one fender is in place now with a zip tie (actually worked out well) but the other side needs a little more work – snapped body bolt. new starter, generator, and other parts of charging system.new radiator hoses, heater hoses, and coolant. previous owner put in new gas tank. previous owner said they put in a new master cylinder for brakes. previous owner put in a new bed, but it was not a working deck - just a show deck, and it is faded in spots now. overall, needs some work to be 'completely' road worthy, but a great start on a restoration for the money. condition is 'pretty good' for a 58 year old truck. it drives - which is more than can be said for most trucks this old that have not been restored. clean NJ title in my name here is a youtube video I made of it showing the good and any flaws. set the quality at 720p and full screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76tIh7kXY_g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo_A22HRBSw On Dec-03-15 at 11:26:52 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: added new $450 replacement wiring kit to sweeten the deal. pic of the items was added.On Dec-05-15 at 14:21:22 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE #2: added used 'working style' bumper to help start your restoration and sweeten the deal. pic of bumper on back of a red truck (different truck than the black one for sale).
