This van was completely serviced mechanically and features new tires, new brakes, new sway bar links and alignment. Plus a mobility dealer checked out all of the adaptive equipment on the vehicle and verified that it was working properly. The AEVIT (Advanced Electronic Vehicle Interface Technology) system provides electronic control of the throttle and brake, so it requires much less physical input than a mechanical system; hand-control or stock pedals may be used. It also has a screen with button switches to control all of the normal driving functions such as starting, transmission shifting, parking brake, headlights, windshield wipers, horn, HVAC, door locks and power windows. This system is especially convenient for someone who has contracted fingers, strength and/or reach problems. Additionally, there is extra power assist applied to the steering mechanism to make that lighter and there is a backup system to provide boost for the power brakes in the event that the engine is shut off. The AEVIT system is state-of-the-art in mobility assistance and safety. It is also, if purchased new, very expensive. The local shop told me I would be looking at around $60,000 to install a system in my existing conversion van. Braun lift (NMV05) with 400 pound capacity. If you are looking at a vehicle history report, there is a mention of an accident. I was told that this was a very slight incident that only damaged one of the bumper covers which has been replaced.
