Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is an exceptional 1996 Mercedes-Benz S420 with just 90k original miles. As you can see, this is a great looking sedan. It is finished in classic silver over gray with black interior. I would rate the exterior of this Merc to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The silver finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections in the finish commensurate with age and mileage. The worst I can say about the exterior of this S420 is a light scrape on the side of the rear bumper, which you can see in the photos. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. The trunk lid and all doors vacuum close smothly, as they should. the body cladding is all intact and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory polished alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in a proper matching set of Michelin's with good tread all around. The power antenna does not retract. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this hard to find Mercedes-Benz looks. I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As soon as you open the door, you are greeted by a graciously appointed interior that still smells new. The door cards are clean and tight. All of the wood interior veneers are intact and show well. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The power windows, seats and central locks all work properly. The drivers mirror only seems to work when it wants to. Both front seats are power operated and work properly. All of the interior lighting works properly, including all of the door lighting. The carpets are clean and show well throughout the interior. A full set of original Mercedes-Benz floor mats are included as well as a windshield shade and a set of rubber all weather floor mats. The stereo system is original. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The passenger temperature setting seems to be stuck on "LO" and the button to raise the temperature doesn't do anything. The trunk is spacious and clean, too. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this S420 looks. The only other bad thing I can say is that the sunroof will tilt up but won't open fully...it seems to encounter some sort of obstruction about halfway open. Driving one of these cars is one of the best driving experiences one can have. The double pane windows have a vacuum in between the layers so the side windows will never fog up. At the top, all of the windows have a double gasket seal which makes the interior remarkably silent. The W140 chassis is probably one of the best cars ever produced. Everyone should own one at some point or another. Mechanically, this S420 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.2L V8 starts up easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older car. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The steering and brakes feel good, too. At highway speeds, you can feel a little vibration in the wheel which is probably just the rubber bushings up front showing some age...or it could just be flat spots on the tires from sitting (I've had this Merc for a little while because of a title issue from the dealership I bought it from). The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on. The engine feels as smooth as silk and makes good power. The five speed automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. If you've been looking for an exceptionally clean W140 that hasn't been all used up and neglected, this S420 deserves your serious consideration. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is an exceptional 1996 Mercedes-Benz S420 with just 90k original miles. As you can see, this is a great looking sedan. It is finished in classic silver over gray with black interior. I would rate the exterior of this Merc to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The silver finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections in the finish commensurate with age and mileage. The worst I can say about the exterior of this S420 is a light scrape on the side of the rear bumper, which you can see in the photos. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. The trunk lid and all doors vacuum close smothly, as they should. the body cladding is all intact and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory polished alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in a proper matching set of Michelin's with good tread all around. The power antenna does not retract. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this hard to find Mercedes-Benz looks.
I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As soon as you open the door, you are greeted by a graciously appointed interior that still smells new. The door cards are clean and tight. All of the wood interior veneers are intact and show well. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The power windows, seats and central locks all work properly. The drivers mirror only seems to work when it wants to. Both front seats are power operated and work properly. All of the interior lighting works properly, including all of the door lighting. The carpets are clean and show well throughout the interior. A full set of original Mercedes-Benz floor mats are included as well as a windshield shade and a set of rubber all weather floor mats. The stereo system is original. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The passenger temperature setting seems to be stuck on "LO" and the button to raise the temperature doesn't do anything. The trunk is spacious and clean, too. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this S420 looks. The only other bad thing I can say is that the sunroof will tilt up but won't open fully...it seems to encounter some sort of obstruction about halfway open. Driving one of these cars is one of the best driving experiences one can have. The double pane windows have a vacuum in between the layers so the side windows will never fog up. At the top, all of the windows have a double gasket seal which makes the interior remarkably silent. The W140 chassis is probably one of the best cars ever produced. Everyone should own one at some point or another.
Mechanically, this S420 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.2L V8 starts up easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older car. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The steering and brakes feel good, too. At highway speeds, you can feel a little vibration in the wheel which is probably just the rubber bushings up front showing some age...or it could just be flat spots on the tires from sitting (I've had this Merc for a little while because of a title issue from the dealership I bought it from). The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on. The engine feels as smooth as silk and makes good power. The five speed automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. If you've been looking for an exceptionally clean W140 that hasn't been all used up and neglected, this S420 deserves your serious consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.

We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are a PennDOT issuing agent and able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyers PennDOT offers a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $45 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance. We can issue them at our office.
