Vehicle Detail
Real nice almost complete and rare 27' Landau 7 window sedan. One of the rarest 27's made. Barn find that's been in storage for 50+ years. Was taken out of storage 11 yrs ago, new tires installed, and moved back into storage until now. Runs and drives good with original 27' engine. 3 spd standard trans. Brakes, radiator, and trans work very good. All lights work (right headlight bulb blown) including headlights, cowl/park lights, tail light, brake light, dome light, and map/dash light. Starter and generator work good. All gauges except speedometer work. Speedometer white metal has deteriorated with what I believe to be original mileage of 28xxx. Horn works. Motor runs good with newly cleaned carb. Has windshield with good frame and rear window, no side glass or sashes but both items are easily available. Have all garnish moldings other than the rear laminated wood one.Has the following areas of metal rot: 1"x8" area on passenger lower cowl. Both fender ends where they attach to the running boards. Small area of pin holes at bottom of driver's side cowl. All metal to be replaced is easy fix and most is flat with simple 90d bends. Running boards on 27's were marine plywood covered with rubber mat, easy to make and replace. Most of rest of metal is light surface rust and easy to restore. The following wood pieces need to be replaced and are currently available from KC wood: roof main sides, left and right front door hinge pillars. There are other pieces that need replacing but can easily be made from lumbar obtained locally. The roof bows and slats are in good shape. Windshield header can be used or replaced. The driver's side passenger door hinge pillar needs to be repaired but not replaced. Sills are good with just a small area on each lower cowl side which can have small pieces laminated in. The sills are solid in all mounting areas. Doors have no wood rot and are solid all the way around. The wood in this car is an easy fix as most is above the sheet metal and what isn't, is just in the cowl area. There are no welds or metal to cut then re-weld when replacing wood. All regulators and latches work as they should. Interior is original, has some where, is stained and dirty but serviceable other than the headliner. Car is currently missing the fuel tank but I've found one and will be picking it up after next week. Wiper motor and bracket is missing, one landau bar knob, a inside knob or two, side glass, window rubber, one rear door middle hinge, and the speedo needs replacing. This car has the cowl plate and body tag intact and is a super candidate for restoration. I will sell as is or can do some, or all of restoration for the new buyer. These type of cars don't come along often and a Landau sedan sold last year for $18k in average condition. Don't miss out on this one. As far as pre 37' Chevys go, this is one of the easiest you'll ever find to replace wood in. I will include a one year membership in the VCCA (Vintage Chevrolet Club of America) which is a wealth of information and help in restoring this rare classic. Bill of sale only, this car was originally registered in MA but was never titled because it hasn't been on the road since at least the 50's. Was originally in a family estate. Have also located a parts car that is available but like this car, for sale locally. For more info call 978-337-4617 Can also deliver reasonable distance for normal shipping fees to be discussed. NOTE: Car in last picture is NOT this car. Pictures shows what this car completed would look like. This car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to remove it from this listing if it sells before this auction ends. On Nov-07-15 at 06:16:51 PST, seller added the following information: Rear window laminated wood garnish is actually in place and is not missing, error on my part. Original fuel tank has been found and will be included. I have begun wood restoration and have removed driver's side front hinge pillar already. On Nov-10-15 at 19:51:55 PST, seller added the following information: Note: I have picked up fuel tank and it is with the car. Also: I have been getting a lot of attention locally on this car and if my original target price is reached, I reserve the right to sell locally. If someone wants know my target price and offer me that price, they can contact me and I will close the add and offer it as a "Buy it Now".
