Vehicle Detail
Greetings from Northern Vermont. I am a co-owner at The Classic Bike Experience in Essex and am thinning out the herd a bit. I bought this Trident last summer as a winter project. Having worked on many of them, I liked this one since it was all there, low original mileage, I knew the pedigree and the motor starts easily, sounds good and no oil. Plus, it has a tittle. Alas, other priorities at the shop have edged this to the side and I figure it is best to offer it up to someone who would like a nice triple. Here is what I know. A 1974 T150 Trident in more or less stock trim in very good mechanical shape. Most triple gurus will tell you that if the motor is sound, the rest of the bike is relatively easy to work on. This bike has a very sound - and sweet sounding - motor. The rest of the bike is very complete. Odometer is under 10,000 and should be accurate based up what we see. Previous owner is a Vermonter. She has owned the bike since the mid 90's and ridden it up until a few years ago. Last inspection sticker is 2011. Boyer electronic ignition. Comes with a Vermont title.Known issues are largely electrical (horn is feeble, front brake light is inop, low beam is out). I had planned on going through it in detail over the winter. Things like stiff petcocks work, but should be replaced. Front brake works but is a bit spongy (flexing rubber hose) so I'd have replaced with stainless for example. Pictures pretty much tell the story on the overall condition. This is not a show bike, but a very solid and well cared for triple you can do as much or as little as you want with it. And, its not a Honda. Any of these old British bike need owners who will spend time with them, can fettle things and enjoy that aspect of ownership. But, the reward to winding up a Trident and listening to the howl is well worth it! I've set the reserve at a reasonable number, but I'm not giving it away, so please no low ball offers. If you are local or regional, our shop is set up for owners to work on their bikes with us at greatly reduced rates if that appeals to you. We can also source all of the parts you'd need. Feel free to call or email anytime. 802-878-5383. Thanks for looking. Jack
