Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1966 Ford Galaxie Fastback No reserve auction. Bid to win. I do have it listed locally, so bid early and often if you want it. Up for sale is my 1968 Ford Galaxie 500. I bought this earlier this year. I have a clear PA title and PA registration. It does have the original CA Black plate on the front. I just had it serviced as well. I had the oil changed, new plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Runs great, and I get lots of looks and waves. Starts every time, and is incredibly dependable. The dash lights work, the interior lights work, high beams, low beams, brake lights, turn signals, etc. They all work. I also added a new dual exhaust. It sounds awesome! This is a cool car. It runs great, and could be a cruiser, or a daily driver if that's your style. I've had a blast with it, but it's time to go. 390 Big Block 2 door hardtop Bench Seat Gold Metallic Paint – original color FMX Automatic Tranny 2.75:1 rear end Below is the description of the gentleman I bought it from. He bought it from the original owner, but never titled or registered it. I had it inspected and serviced by the shop that does all my classic work (vettes, mustangs, impala, etc) I have 3 classics at the moment, and 2 of them need to go. This is listed locally, so I do reserve the right to end the auction early. If the auction is at a minimum of $8000, then I won’t end it early. The black torque thrust wheels are currently on it (17" wheels), and you can have the original wheels and hubcaps if you want them. Check with your shipping company if they will allow you to put them in the truck (they all fit, I tried it!). This car is about as straight and clean as they come. It has lived its entire live in California, and only been in PA this year. Great car and fun to drive. I’d drive this across country: it runs that well. This is a luxury car from the late 60’s. It has AC (blows, but is cool, not cold). Factory front disc brakes. Very comfortable car. The seats are ugly, but comfortable. The only rust on the whole car is in the well of the trunk. Some pin holes and some cracks, but no open, gaping holes. Easy fix or patch if you want. I'm guessing water got in the truck well (only the well has any rust that is through), and then set under the liner and rusted over time. It's an easy fix to cut it out and replace, or just leave the cover on it (as it is) and just drive it and enjoy it. See the description below. Great car. Ask questions. $500 deposit due with 24 hours. Balance within 7 days. Buyer is responsible for pickup and/or shipping. Funds must clear before the car leaves my home. Text or email with questions. Great car. Hard to find. Car is in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Ok, Here's the story on what I know of this car. I purchased it 2 years ago from the original owner. An elderly gentleman from Orland, CA. He told me he bought it brand new. He also told me that the mileage (20,730) is the original mileage, and that it has only turned over once. So, it's a 1 owner, 120,730 mile car. This man told me that he had moved from Orland to Magalia, CA and that his home in Orland had a 5 car garage, and his new home had a 2 car garage. He said the only reason for selling it was that he didn't have enough room at his new place. He told me he had just had it painted, so it would be close to 2 years old now. I asked him why he had it painted, and he said "just so it would shine better than the original paint did, and it would sell faster." He told me that there wasn't any bodywork needed, and that this was the 1st repaint ever! He said he tried to wax the original paint, but it just wouldn't shine up as well as he wanted. I sure wish I'd have seen it prior to painting, I'll bet I would have been able to rub/polish it out. Oh well. Since I've owned it I've replaced the original carpeting, and just had the headliner replaced. Both are only a week old. I've rebuilt the original 2 bbl. carburetor, and tuned it up. I also changed the oil, filter, and coolant. It runs and drives great! Very comfortable car. No leaks, weird noises, rattles, or smoke. The original A/C works fantastic! It gets cold... Transmission shifts great, brakes are power front disc, which was an option for the 1st time in '68. Plenty of power, and super smooth. I've never even had to charge the A/C, and after 2 years, it still blows ice cold! Data Plate info: • Body: 63B, 2dr. hdtp, bench seat • Color: Y, Medium gold metallic • Trim: 6Y, Light nugget gold vinyl • Date: 02E, May 2nd • DSO: 72, San Jose, California • Axle: 1, 2.75:1 open (non-posi) • Trans: X, Auto FMX This car is beautiful, gets lookers whenever I take it out. Starts right up, runs, drives, shifts, steers, and stops excellent. Rust free California car. when the carpeting was replaced, I took photos of the floors without carpeting in. I will attach a couple of those, but virtually rust free. Rockers, door bottoms, floors, frame, etc. all rust free. The trunk has a new mat, and there is some rust in the well. Several small pin holes, and a couple of little 4" cracks. Easily repairable, in my opinion. All gauges work, wipers, heater, A/C, defrost, etc. This car is bone stock with the exception of the stereo that the old guy had installed, and he had had the seats reupholstered once upon a time. They still look very nice, but are not original. In fact, they're not even vinyl, they're a tan cloth material, and have stood up very well. No burns, stains, holes, tears, front or back. Original spare tire, jack, and all tools are still stored away in the trunk. The carpeting was replaced with ACC (very good quality) about 1 month ago. Had a new headliner installed a couple of weeks ago.
