LOW RESERVE AUCTION for 1978 Chevy K-10 half ton 4X4. 350 chevy with a 350 turbo transmission. This truck is a daily driver for me and runs good. In original condition except for the wheels, stereo and aftermarket air conditioning. It has a clean California title and has been in northern California all of its life. HISTORY: I have owned the truck for a few months now and have been working on it as I drive it. It had been sitting for a few years when I got it. It still has some cob webs underneath, I have not cleaned the undercarriage or under the hood. BODY: Truck has been repainted once before. The paint job is old and could use a repaint. The passenger side fender has rust at bottom- leaves and debris were caught at bottom of fender and retained moisture. The body is very straight with few small dings. The primer spots are places where I pulled small ding or scrape with a stud gun puller. I have not put any body filler anywhere on truck. Inside bed has some surface rust as shown- the previous owner had a rubber mat on floor of bed and it retained moisture causing minor surface rust. The hood had a bend but I straightened it out and welded a brace underneath. All glass is good with no cracks. I replaced the (4) cab-to-frame bushings with energy suspension parts because the cab was drooping- now sits perfectly level with bed. DRIVE TRAIN: Engine is a targetmaster 350. Not sure how many miles on it but it is completely stock with all smog controls on and hooked up. The engine idles at about 30lbs oil pressure, when increasing RPMs the oil pressure goes up to 45lbs. On cold start up it will puff a little smoke but I don’t notice any smoking while driving. The engine does have a tick at times and I have not tried to adjust the lifters to quiet it down. It has been making this noise for years according to the previous owner. Sometimes it can be heard at idle and sometimes it is quiet. I am unsure what the noise is exactly- but it must be mentioned here. The engine does not have any big leaks but it does seep some oil underneath. I have not done anything to the engine but replace a few vacuum line, replace fuel pump, and adjust the timing. Transmission has been rebuilt and shifts great. Goes right into gear immediately with no delay but does have a small leak- it may be coming from the pan- I am not sure. Transfer case is good, does right into 4X4 no problem with no noise. Rear axle and Front axle- is 3.73 gears and the rear is a posi-traction according to the data plate. All work good with no noises or leaks. Brakes work good. INTERIOR: Front seat has a cover over the seat, the carpet needs cleaning but is good, headliner I took out because it was drooping, there is old glue where the headliner was. Door panels are worn, has tilt wheel, stereo works sometimes, dash lights don’t come on at night- may need switch or fuse. Has newer steering wheel. Air condition belt is not on compressor not sure why, switches for aftermarket air are in top of dash- I have not looked at AC system at all. Extra Parts- I have the spare tire and holder that goes underneath the bed. I do have an extra chrome straight front bumper that goes with truck. The current one has a small ding.
