Vehicle Detail
Please read the entire description before bidding. You're looking at a 1965 Chevy Impala Convertible in good condition. It does not have the original motor or tranny. The previous owner, for some reason, put in a 350/300hp small block motor, with a TH350 trans. out of a 1971 Corvette. It has the "double camel hump" fuelie heads, Edelbrock intake manifold, and a new Edelbrock 500 cfm carburetor. Mileage on the motor is unknown. It has headers and duel exhaust. Interior looks to be original. Top in great condition with no rips, or holes. The paint job is OK, looks better in the pictures. It has a AM/FM/CD player and a couple rear speakers. The car was stored with the top down at the previous owners location because at that time, the top wouldn't go up. So the interior will need to be cleaned, replaced, or just left as is and drive it. I installed 2 new top cylinders, so the top works fine now. I am selling this because I lost my Winter storage, and will not leave it outside in the snow. The tires and rims are just for moving it around, you should get new ones. From what I can tell, the body is in decent shape. It has a couple spots in the trunk floor that are rusted, the rest of the floors are solid with no holes. Some rust spots in the door jams and corners of the doors, but what do you expect for a 50 yr. old car....it will have spots someplace. The top has a glass rear window, not a plastic one. It also has a "Parade" cover that snaps over the top when it's down. The odometer and clock are the only things not working. The gear shift indicator is off a little, because it has the shift pattern for the original 2 speed Powerglide, and a 3 speed tranny is in there now. The motor currently is not running. I drove it all summer then one day about 4 weeks ago it wouldn't start. The motor turns over, but won't run. So far to try and fix this problem I've replaced the fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filter, another new carb, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, ignition module, and my last hope will be to change the coil in a couple days. I've spent more time and money on this than I wish to anymore, that's another reason why I'm selling it at a very low price with no Reserve. My lose your gain. Hagerty values this car, at the lowest grade, a grade #4, at $10,600.00 but with the original 283 motor. A deposit of $500.00 by Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the Auction, or Cash if you're close to me. Payment in full before the car leaves. That means if you pay by Certified Bank Check, the car doesn't move until it clears thru my bank....I don't care if the Trucking Co. is coming the next day to pick it up. NO personal Checks, No Sales outside the USA.
