This is a very rare one year only 1959 Conv D roadster. This is what replaced the Speedster for the 1959 model year. There were only 1331 A model roadsters This car had the advantage of the T2 improvements along with roll up windows and more headroom but with the top down the look of the Speedster; The t2 1958 -59 had the larger ZF steering box bigger front spindles and the shifter moved back along with the zenith two barrel carbs. with late style throttle cross shaft. These improvements greatly added to the fantastic driving feel of these cars . This car was restored 12 years ago and has 2300 miles on this original numbers match engine.. The body ; It has older black paint job that was done years ago but has nice shine and depth with no cracking and maybe a couple of tiny blisters and a very few rock chips but no dents. The car was original Meissen blue with optional red leather. A very stunning combo offered two years only.. This car has not been clipped. It has the id 70 in the doors and engine lid but I can't find the id in the never kinked hood.. 1958 dated gas tank clean and shiny inside never coated. with sealer. Glass reflectors one is cracked. The gaps are very nice . It has had new pans and battery floor replaced. at that time. Check the picture of the back side of the nose panel . Never damaged that is rare as hens teeth All the glass was new at that time. All chrome was redone to show quality. The 5 wheels are Lemmerz rechromed . The interior; All gorgeous new full leather as original special ordered new carpet , top and boot was done then as well. Mechanical; The trans is a BBAB dated the 28th week of 58 possible a little early . It is in perfect smooth shifting and quiet condition The brakes were all new shoes cylinders and the drums were sent out for reconditioning. New shocks. The completely new bearings reconditioned B rods , big bore a super cam late aluminum base rockers and super zenith carbs. New muffler. The heads rebuilt with New guides valves.. The car a very strong runner and never any smoke.. These rare conv D don't come up for sale to often and they are a great investment..that can be driven .
