A real honest low mile barn find, Here's the scoop on this vette: My buddy does cable tv for a living he is an installer, he was up on a pole and looked across a cpl yards and seen just the nose of this awesome convertible..wasn't sure what the deal behind it was, so he went over to the house knocked on the door an old lady of 80+ answered the door, he asked about "the car" out back in the barn, lady said her late husband bought it new and passed several yrs ago and she didn't know much about it. but doesn't want to sell it, he said OK and left. He calls me pronto on the cell, tells me the location and all the info he gathered on it knowing how much I love these cars, now thats what ya call a real friend.. So a cpl days pass I go to her house to inquire about it, same thing door slams shut, its not for sale.! Another week passes and I go back, I have got to own this car. I asked her if I could just go look at it? reluctantly she agreed to let me go out back and see it. The corvette was a scary mess and made me want it even more. flat tires dull paint 4 inches of crud and dust.The car was talking to me" please take me home bring me back to life. I begged her to let me restore this car in honer of her late husband. I told her soon there wont be a chance its just rotting away out there in the barn. Well we sat on her front porch talking about her late husband and his days in the army and how much he loved this car, we talked for what seemed hrs over coffee.Would you believe at the end of our conversations she said to me..what would you be willing to pay for such a car as this one..I knew then I was getting somewhere..I told her I didn't really know what it was worth,but I also knew I better get while the getting's good. I offered her 6800.00 she said well that'll be fine. I about choked not knowing what I was about to get into, but I thought one owner and how cool it looked, money became nothing. my vision was fixed on saving this corvette. Well a day or 2 later we met up to have the car towed out of its location..Then she says she had lost the title or couldn't find it..She told me that she would apply for a new or lost one..she needed some time..oh great I thought she doesn't want to sell it..well about a week or 2 had passed the phone rings its her grandson telling me she has the new title and keys plus the alarm remotes. Game on lets go save this bad boy, Here is a list of new stuff I have done so far. I spared no expense in saving this car. the best of the best only.. I purchased a brand new convertible top for it, and new hard top. soft top needs to be put on the convertible frame..The 2 tops cost me $2400.00.the original soft top has seen better days,,so a brand new one comes with the car as well as this awesome hard top..see pics! After doing some internet research and vin coding, turns out this is a very low production number Corvette, less than 100 had this color and rare leather and cloth dual power seats.This is a 2 owner adult owned vehicle. it has the special handling package with the 3.73 Axel Ratio Posi Traction rear with factory aluminum Wheels, this car need's very little attention to be a nice show car.It does draw tons of attention as it sits.The car is owned by a true corvette enthusiast.
