1999 BMW M3 convertible with 5-speed manual transmission Current mileage is 156,372 I am the third owner; prior to my ownership the car had resided in Southern California all of its life It is quite rare given its configuration: fern green exterior with gray interior and manual transmission. According to a check of the VIN it is 1 of only 20 such cars exported to the U.S. Almost all of the M3 convertibles were with the automatic transmission. Furthermore, the car came with manual sport seats as standard. Almost all of the M3s of the E36 era came with power seats. As all M3 aficionados know, manual seats are preferred. The following is what has been done to the car during my possession: Coolant system: New radiator New water pump New BMW coolant New fan with clutch New pulleys New belts New thermostat Engine: Oil has been changed every 3k miles with Mobil 1 0w-40 with Mahle filters New fuel filter New plugs (BKR6E - NGK) New valve cover gasket Aftermarket catback exhaust Conforti cold air intake with carbon fiber tube and ITG filter ASC delete New battery New Pre-cat O2 sensors New motor mounts No oil, trans or any other leaks Exterior: Beyern mesh wheels (17"x8" -square setup) with 253/40/17 Kumho Ecsta tires Genuine Bosch headlights imported from Germany Genuine ZKW yellow foglamps imported from Germany Black Chrome front grills and black carbon fiber emblems New front hood struts - Stabilus made in Germany Brakes: New cross-drilled Zimmerman rotors (all around) Akebono Ceramic pads Rebuilt calipers with black powdercoating Stainless steel brake lines Full fluid replacement with ATE Blue Racing Brake Fluid. Clutch: Master cylinder replaced (new) Slave cylinder replaced (new) New OEM Sachs clutch New LUK dual mass flywheel Transmission: All detent shift pins replaced Custom ROGUE shift kit with new shift boot and M3 shift knob New pilot bearing New transmission mounts New pressure plate bolts New center support bearing New rear main seal New transmission rear output shaft seal New pivot pin New guibo New starter New reverse light switch New clutch fork lever Fluid changed to Red Line synthetic manual transmission fluid Differential fluid changed to Royal Purple 75w-90 The A/C system was completely gone over at 144,875 and the climate control unit was repaired; just needs a new interior cabin filter which will come with the car. What needs to be done: needs new top; the one on the car is original and the back window is shot; furthermore the linkage needs to be adjusted; I have received quotes from $1,500 to $2,000 for the repair for everything. Motors are fine; it is just new top and linkage adjustment. There is a small dent in the drivers side door that needs repair. It's not bad but it is still there. The suspension (it has front coilovers) should be replaced at some point in time. The car's stance sits perfect and while the current suspension set up works extremely well, new shocks and springs will work wonders for the handling of the car. I estimate that the current suspension has about 40k miles on it and I like to refresh every 50k minimum. I have a brand new full setup of Konis (adjustable) and Eibach springs but I am selling that separately. Very hard to find nowadays. I just picked up a Mercedes 560sl that I want to fully restore so I should sell this M3, however, If I am unable to get the price I want for this vehicle I will keep it. It truly is worth the money for the right person for whom I am waiting. I am not in a hurry. I am a competent backyard mechanic who has a close personal friend that is a European car specialist who has done the major work I am unable to do - the car has been very well maintained.
