Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a striking 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner. This Roadrunner came originally from the factory with a 383 cubic inch engine and still retains those call outs on the hood, but now a modified 440 cubic inch V8 sits under the hood. The car is also equipped with a four speed manual transmission and front disc brakes which makes this one exhilarating car to drive. I am a British car restorer and have driven many fast and exotic cars in my life but this car stood out for its shear brutal delivery of power and speed. It gets to 100mph before you know it and leaves a giant grin on your face. I am selling this car for a friend and he has let me drive it for the past few days so I can get a feel of the car and its condition. Below is a description of the Roadrunner. V.I.N - The vehicle identification number goes as follows, R=belvedere, M=Roadrunner, 23=2door hardtop, H=383ci hi per engine, 8=1968 model, A=Detroit built. DRIVETRAIN - The engine is a rebuilt 440 cubic inch V8 with great oil pressure (50lbs) and no smoke. It has an Edelbrock performer Rpm intake manifold, a dual feed Holley carb being supplied fuel by a Mallory competition electric pump and pressure regulator. The exhaust consists of stainless headers feeding dual 3inch exhaust pipes and mufflers. The radiator is a newer aluminium type and cools the engine well (around 185 F ) the 4 speed transmission is equipped with a Hurst pistol grip shifter and shifts smoothly through the gears. The brakes have been upgraded to discs in the front and a dual master cylinder, they stop the car well. The tires are Goodyear eagles 205/60 15 front, 295/50 15 rear with good tread. BODY/EXTERIOR - The body is very straight with no dents and the doors shut easily. The paint is glossy and shows very little wear, there are some small flaws but are not noticeable and do not detract from the car. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition as are the chrome Crager SS wheels. The glass is in good condition with no cracks on the windshield and the windows wind up and down easily. I have looked around the body extensively and the only rust I could find was under the trunk floor mat probably due to a previous bad trunk lid seal, please see photo. INTERIOR - the carpet, seats, headliner and door panels are in very good condition needing no attention. The dashboard seems unrestored and the plastic chrome is worn and fading. The dash top is good. The original temp gauge does not work but the car is equipped with auxillary gauges and they work (see photo) Overall this is a very clean Roadrunner that could be entered at local shows with pride and enjoyed emediatly with no extra work. Please call me (simon@ 559 349 3109) or email me with any questions. bidders with less than 3 positive feedbacks please contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed. Thanks for looking. On Jul-19-15 at 21:06:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the heater core was leaking and is disconnected. The car comes with a new heater core uninstalled in the trunk (see photo)
