This 1967 Renault Caravelle was originally purchased new in San Diego. (I am not the original owner.) It spent 20 + years in Arizona and is now back in California waiting to be fully restored. This was a project car that we started working on, but we have ultimately decided to sell it rather than complete it. The body is in nice shape, no dents. The square hard top in the photo has been disassembled and the rust along the rear window frame has been removed and repaired. Currently, this top has all hardware and glass removed and is nearly ready for painting. If the buyer prefers, an un-restored rounded hard top, (red) with all glass and hardware intact, can be substituted. This top has some rust at the rear window frame, but is in good condition overall. The soft top frame is good, but original vinyl top is worn with some cracks. The paint is heavily oxidized; some portions have already been sanded, but more work will be needed to get it ready for painting. All trim is there, but is currently removed from the vehicle. The rear bumper is also currently off of the car (this can be reinstalled if buyer wishes). Side parking lights and front turn lenses have deteriorated, but rear lights are intact. Radio is not original. Interior is not bad for being baked in the desert sun. Seats are usable, but have some tears in the vinyl. Rear seat cushion padding has dried and is crumbly. Door panels are both there, but in need of restoration (see photos).Tires are old and leaky. They will hold air for a short time, but will need to be replaced. Spare tire rim (without tire) is included as well. This car has a newly cleaned and coated gas tank; a new brake master cylinder, pads, and rebuilt wheel cylinders--it still needs a front brake line replaced; it has a new fuel pump; and new battery. The engine runs, but is currently out of the car. (It can be reinstalled if the buyer wishes.) We have the original warranty booklet and owner's manual. This car is registered in Arizona, but has its original black and yellow California plates.Sold as-is, no warranty. Buyer will pay for and arrange for all shipping.
