UP FOR SALE IS A LATE MODEL 1979 TOYOTA FJ40. This truck was a daily driver for many years until a connecting rod failure.The #1 rod is protruding thru the oil pan,that being said it will need at least a new crankshaft, or new short block.The engine was in great running condition before the failure.It has 132k original miles.The truck overall is very solid but it was from colorado so it has rust in all the usual fj40 areas.The front floors along the rockers,both rear quarters in the corners are bad.The rear sill is largely intact and shouldnt need replacement.Being in california, I considor it pretty rusty,but Im sure it is very solid from an east coast standpoint! It is very original,the only non original items are the extended shackles,shocks,leaf springs, tuffy center console,front turn signals,mirrors,and saginaw ps.It has all its smog equipment(some removed) factory power steering pump with saginaw steering gear.Front disc brakes,factory 3.70 gears( first year) and gas tank is under the tub(first year for this as well) The rear jump seats are in really good shape,factory roll bar still has its shiny grey factory paint, front and rear seat belts intact, jack and rods,rear fender wells are solid,rear amby doors are solid with very minor rust starting at the bottom.front doors are also decent with some rust,but no through rust.Front bib has no lower rust,hood is great, the hard top is in great shape with no gutter rot,all glass intact and working.(front windshield has a crack.Headliner is missing.Factory front floor mat,previous owner welded the cat heatshield to the drivers side floor(floor is there so not sure why,but its easily removed. The dash is really nice,paint and instruments are very nice as is the glove box and ashtray.Most electrical works and no funny business under the dash.Vehicle does not run and must be towed.I will help load onto trailer,located in the bay area california.This is a great opportunity to buy a late model fj40,as the prices are rising and it is a great investmemt.
