Vehicle Detail
Here's a rare find indeed, An original paint/interior/drive train time capsule barn find for sure. This a one of the Minnesota's unique 440 magnum big block Maroon cruiser's. They ordered their cars up a little different than most states. The 60/40 fabric seats, matching carpet no rubber mat, factory Mopar radio, rear electric defrost, power windows, body colored wheels as well as the standard police package upgrades. This car also has the big 9 1/4 suregrip rear end and factory torque boxes to handle the torque of the 440 as the trooper launched it into pursuit mode. These cars were built to go all day long at any speed. Here's what I was told on this cars back story. This car was sold at auction with a low 72k miles on it. The owner wanted to preserve it and bought most of the Agency specific equipment at the same auction. The light bar (not working) and spotlight are original to this car. This car also has the really cool, correct Minnesota specific push bumper, radios with wire harness and trunk unit, radar unit, trooper officer manual and uniform. This car even still has it's factory Goodyear police pursuit spare tire. It was stored indoors for years. The out building that it was in collapsed and the roof and light bar did get a little banged up with some damage. It sat outside for a short period of time. The owner passed away and his boys got the car. As times change today's kids don't have any interest in the unique features of these old Pursuit cars so you know what happened next. Lets play rip the drive train out of the old cop car and put it in something else. Well that's where I stepped in. I was able to purchase the vehicle before it was to late. The drive shaft was taken out and one of the exhaust manifolds was taken off, front p side door wont open, all the power windows do work. Here it sits ready for a (Full Restoration). It has the normal bumps and bruise's to be expected of a old cop car of this age. All original 440 drive train is still in the car. No the car does not run. It has a clear title in hand and is a completely untouched time capsule. Please ask all questions on this sold as is sale. Bid to win and good luck!!On Jul-07-15 at 12:28:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I will be adding more pictures of the car before the end of the auction including the installed push bumper, radar unit, gun rack and radios. This auction also includes a lot of miscellaneous MHP specific equioment, extra radar unit so 2 total, one for parts, deck lights, bulbs, brackets, wiring harness, officer training manual (needs new external binder) etc. A lot of the parts do have the MHP property tags on them. This is a (COMPLETE) car. The exhaust manifold and drive shaft are with the car and will be installed if time allows, This car is as it left the auction. It still has the Factory Mopar battery, factory spark plug wires, Goodyear blue streak police pursuit spare tire. A great and worthy candidate for the rare A-38, E-86, U code, H.P.440 big block Mopar Factory Police package hobby. Last of an era not like the p.o.s. Ford C.V's and soccer mom SUV's of today took over. No need to clone when you can have the real deal!! Thanks for the offers but the equipment stays with the car. It is still an old cop car and needing a resto and to be sorted out. Not ready for the car shows. Good news is no one has messed this one up and taken off parts etc. Hope this info helps!!!!
