This 1999 Ferrari 360 Challenge is in great condition and appears to have no accident history. We purchased it in 2007 with the intention of taking it to the track on occasion but other projects continue to take priority. The car was never tracked under our ownership so it will need to be serviced/updated to do so. We occasionally move it from one garage to the other and it always starts up immediately and runs smooth. The VIN listed above is not the correct VIN, (actual VIN wouldn't work in their system) The car's VIN is ZFFYR51B000119602. Note that this car IS NOT STREET LEGAL and has no title. The buyer will be issued a legal, notarized Bill-of-Sale upon purchase. There is no reserve. We ended the last auction early because we took a deposit on the car but the buyer did not follow through due to personal reasons, (it had nothing to do with the car). Here are some other things we recently learned about the car: - The car's build was completed on March 10th 2000, though the factory designated it a 1999 for importation/legal reasons. - It was delivered to Ferrari of Phoenix where we believe it had 2 owners. - Ferrari of Phoenix's computer systems show that the car was in their service department 17 times from 12/29/2000 to 3/7/2006. The service department for some reason has "purged their computer systems" of record details on cars they haven't seen in years so now no one has any idea what was performed during those 17 visits, it only shows the dates the car was there, (Frustrating!!). - The car was originally Titanium but was obviously painted Black by a previous owner. It is a good professional paint job. All door jams and difficult areas to paint look perfect. There are a few scratches here and there and the hood has some strange markings that can be seen if up close and in the sun, (similar to what happens when bird droppings etch a clear coat). - Previous winning bidder had a pre-purchase inspection performed at Ferrari of Silicon Valley. They found no signs of any accidents and that the car has low mileage, even for a race car, at only 4,098, (7,885 Kilometers). Things that they recommended being done are: Replace motor and transmission mounts due to age, renew rack and pinion due to a leak, perform belt service, replace battery, re-mount center rear view mirror, and replace the tires. They found that it has like new brakes and rotors and the clutch is reading 27% worn. Side and rear plastic windows are showing signs of age. I have copies of the inspection if desired. - There are obviously other things that would need to be done to compete in races.
