1967 Fiat Dino Coupe, 135AC0000738 Engine # 0001834 Mileage is in KM 88,336 ( TMU) , 2.0 Liter Ferrari designed V-6. Ferrari cars raced in Formula 2, but in 1966 F2 rule changes warranted that manufactures racing in the series had to use engines derived from production car's of at least 500 units, Ferrari needed to conform with these new rules , they approached their friends at Fiat with a offer. Fiat would build the Ferrari designed engines in exchange for being allowed to use them in Fiat cars.That is how the Fiat coupe and spider were born. Bertone designed the Coupe.This Coupe was originally owned by a U.S serviceman, He drove this car lovingly all over Europe and enjoyed the power and sports car handling on Germany's Autobahn highway system. He brought the car home to the United States then later sold the car to a Connecticut gentlemen that carefully maintained the car up until recently. Today this rare car is available. The Dino features a 2.0 V-6 with 5 speed manual transmission, the prior owner stated that the power train was restored, including new water pump, rebuilt carburetors , new fuel lines, and a full tune up. The engine runs excellent and the transmission shifts well, the car drives great. The car was resprayed in Red following a complete body strip, any corrosion found was removed, ( very little) The undercarriage, floors and rockers are in exceptional condition. The Original interior is holding up well considering its 48 year old age, Mileage however cannot be verified. The car includes ; Copies of the Parts and Service Manuals, Service Records, letters and information relating to the car, and a number of spare parts the previous owner kept on hand.
