Vehicle Detail
A restorable 1968 dodge Charger that originally came with the 383HP code motor(H). It is still in its original paint and needs extensive sheet metal repair. There is no drivetrain, no bucket seats, no rear window. Can be restored with a lot of sheet metal replacement, or has a lot of donor parts still to be a good parts car. I believe the right fender and 2 doors could be saved. Will need trunk pan, floors, rear quarters, rear frame rails, deck lid, rear valance, hood, etc(look at pics or ask questions). Has all good date coded side glass and all window mechanisms. Has a good dash pad, gauge cluster, lower dash pads. and the upper door pads aren't bad. Still has factory steering wheel and am radio. Has good door pads, good upper door and sill trim. Grill has had some repairs but looks respectable. has all the mechanisms and vacuum pods. Taillights are fair to good condition. Has all the headliner bows and clips and required small pieces for a complete headliner replacement. Has the a/c unit in dash, defrost vents, wiring, ashtray, and most ducts. The engine compartment is actually very good, no rust out on firewall, none on inner fenders, and no rust out on front frame rails, the area where the torsion bars go in is not rusted out. Some small pitting on front edge of roof and some rust on rear window frame area. Drip rail trim in good condition. Surprisingly the frame section where the rear leaf spring brackets go into still good. This is a major project and having welding skills or a friend with welding skills would make this a more feasible project. Extra parts include a very good deck lid with just one small rust repair, a full set of wheel moldings, a vg vinyl top j-hook molding, an excellent ding free 5-piece front window molding set, pair of vinyl top c-pillar moldings, and a good straight rear bumper core for re-chroming or core exchange. Does not have a body tag or build sheet. No title for vehicle, but I did have the Illinois State Police run a vin check nation-wide(all 50 states), and there were no issues with wanted, stolen, liens, etc. so there should be no problem in MOST states getting a replacement title. Do your own homework in your state before bidding. You will get a bill of sale after payment in full. I have a 68 383 available for sale to the winning bidder if you had intentions at going back to original. Payment will be in the form of cash or a cashiers check, if latter, car will be held until check clears. No trades. Check with your wife, girlfriend, mother, or banker before bidding. Ask all questions before bidding. I'm retired so just about any day is open for a personal inspection, which I strongly advise. Payment due within 7 days of end of auction. Can hold car longer if paid in full and transport becomes a problem. On Jun-26-15 at 07:34:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Some confusion on body tag missing...should have used the more common 'fender tag' is missing. The vin tag is still correctly mounted on the dash with it's original rosette rivets.
