Vehicle Detail
You are looking at my 2004 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG Gelandewagen. Finished in brilliant silver metallic with black leather with grey leather inserts. This G Wagen has been professionally maintained all of it's life by Mercedes-Benz. Furthermore, in it's lifetime, it was a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle through Mercedes-Benz. This told me that when I purchased it, that it had been well taken care of. The VMI from Mercedes-Benz shows that. It is pictured below. It has been kept in a climate controlled garage, and has been well taken care of throughout it's life. The truck will not be driven until the new owner picks him up. He will stay safe and sound in the garage. The truck was also put into a pilot for a web series called "Big Little Boss". So, I guess it's considered a "movie car" now for a low budget series. Please realize that this truck is in excellent shape for it being a 2004, and only driven on an average of 9,600 miles a year. History The story I got from the previous owner is that the original owner was in the hotel industry and had the vehicle shipped with them where ever he was transferred to. He finally sold it, to her and it had been in La Jolla, California for a few years. I purchased it from her and flew into San Diego and drove it home to Dallas. I have had it since November and I am having to part with it due to my Daughter getting ready to go to college. Therefore, my priorities have changed, and it needs a new home. Exterior/Mechanical The truck is in impeccable shape for it's age. The paint is shiny, glossy, and stays washed and waxed on a more than regular basis. When it's not being used, it stays in the garage. Surprisingly, there are no dents, scratches, blemishes, or any show of off roading or going through brush of any kind. The only flaw I see is the paint peeling on the grille guard, but it can be re sprayed with a rattle can. I left it alone so that you could see the real deal. Now, since it is an 04, there are normal signs of rock chips on the grille, part of the hood, and on other parts of the truck. However, the pictures will show that it's in exceptional condition for it's age. Currently, Mercedes-Benz has a recall on the headlight system stating that the DOT wants them to take off the headlight guards, turn signal guards, etc. So, I took off the headlight guards and tail light guards off myself. The turn signal guards are still on there, but Mercedes-Benz will take them off for you if you want at no charge, but I believe they will keep them and not give them back. So, the tail light guards and the headlight guards will go with the truck if you want them. I also updated the AMG wheels from the 04 circa wheels and an 18" wheel to the newer, updated 19" five spoke factory AMG wheel for two reasons. One, the newer wheels make the truck look mean as hell, aggressive, and there is more of a tire selection in a 19" wheel. I just put brand new Michelin Premier LTX 275/55/19 tires on it and they have about 50 miles on them. You will see pictures of the old tires on it. I just had the tires put on Tuesday, June 16th. Mechanically, the truck is solid and sound. It needs absolutely NOTHING! I just had the water pump and the pulley replaced today because there was some play on the propeller shaft. Like I said previously, the truck has been maintained by Mercedes-Benz and not some ol boy that tinkers under the shade tree. I would rather have confidence in knowing that a truck of this caliber was maintained and well taken care of by Mercedes. The next service that needs to be done on this truck is an "A" service. However, Mercedes Benz recommends that the oil be changed every 10,000 miles, I had the oil changed at Mercedes-Benz of Plano to give peace of mind even though the oil had 4,000 miles still to go as shown on the sticker in the windshield. The K&N filters were installed 2,000 miles ago. Recently when I had it in for oil service, the technician said that everything looked great except the rear brakes would need attention soon but not critical. The Previous owner also installed factory G500 springs and went ahead and replaced the factory shocks with Bilsteins. I asked her why and she said that it was too rough and bouncy. However, if you want to re-install the AMG springs, you can find them here on Ebay. Im guessing that when people buy these trucks, they are wanting a Lexus ride. This is not the case in this truck. It is a truck, and you are really in touch with the road and your surroundings! So, if you've never owned a G Wagen, be ready to drive a European military spec vehicle that has no mercy! During my ownership, I also had the ECU re-flashed which gave the throttle a quicker response, it became more fuel efficient, and the limiter was taken off from 125mph to 200mph. So, with the air filters and re-flash, Ive added close to another 50hp to the truck. However, this is an aerodynamically challenged vehicle. So, it would be really hard to get that fast. If you aren't familiar with the AMG product, the engines are hand built by one person in Affalterbach, Germany at the AMG plant. The normal Mercedes-Benz engine is all built by robotics at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance, Alabama or in Tennessee. In this case, this engine was hand built by Robert Feller. Interior Interior is superb! The leather is soft, and conditioned on a regular basis with Lexol. There are no rips, tears, hard cracks or any signs of hard wear on the bolsters. There are no cracks on the dash, and everything works as it should. The carpet is protected by the Mercedes-Benz all weather mats, and the carpet does not have any show of abuse, neglect, or hard, heavy soiling from foot traffic. The carpet doesn't have any rips, tears, burn holes, or loose threading or fraying. the interior smells like leather, and like it just came off of the showroom. Therefore, it has never been smoked in, and the headliner is intact with no type of blemishes or smell. I believe that there is one little crack on the wood on the passenger seat selection area. It is pictured to show. Oh and the glove box latch is temperamental. It was like that when I bought it. But the only thing I put in the glove box is the grille guard tool that is used to unlock the grille guard for some reason or another. It was different when the headlight guards were on there. I had to lower the guard to wash the headlights when I washed the truck. As pictured, the jack is where it should be with a full size spare outside. The engine doesn't leak or burn any oil as shown with pictures of the undercarriage. There is no rust under the truck and the mufflers and the resonators show minimal corroding. All around an outstanding truck! Shipping Since I am located in the Dallas Fort Worth area, It would be real easy for me to meet a shipper, or have a shipper come to me to pick up the truck. However, If you would like to drive it home, I would be glad to pick you up at either Dallas Love Field or D/FW International Airport. Just let me know your intentions of what you want to do so that I can work around your schedule. Payment There is a lien on the vehicle. The lien holder is Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union. Therefore, in order to make everything safe and give everyone peace of mind, have a few options. First option is by sending a bank wire transfer to the credit union from your banking institution. From there, they will release the lien, and send the title to either you or the new lien holder. OR, if you feel more comfortable and want to go to the credit union personally and drop the certified funds that way, then that's fine with me as well. Either way, I don't touch any legal tender, you, the buyer usually has a better piece of mind, and it's just good business. However, I am requiring a $1,000.00 deposit via PayPal immediately after auction end to show sincere intent. It will be non-refundable if you don't follow through with the transaction. Once the transaction takes place, the deposit will be applied to the remaining balance of the price. Disclosure I feel that I have tried to paint the best picture that I could for everyone interested. I have described and disclosed as much information as I possibly could. Therefore, the truck is being sold AS/IS-WHERE/IS, and no warranty is implied. I am not a dealer, and I don't have any administrative or document fees. Also, sales tax in your state will need to be taken care of by you. I will give you a bill of sale for those purposes. Dealers, please do not solicit your services to enhance the selling experience for me. I feel that I have done my due diligence there as I would want the same thing. The reserve is set to be fair for what this truck is. It is priced right for what this truck is. If you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on here. I will reply in a timely manner. Pictures
