NO RESERVE!1980 Mercedes 240D Manual Transmission Retro Diesel, Runs Great! Destined to be a Collector's Item, this car really runs great, too. So great, that in fact, it will not cut off. (Seriously, though...this is a vacuum leak). The best part of this deal is...the tires are BRAND NEW!This Mercedes cranks and runs great, only getting rid of it, because we now have a Jetta and it is not being driven like it should. Up until then....it was a daily driver to work and back. It is great on fuel mileage, getting over 30 mpg. It's not the fastest car out there, but who needs speed when you look this good. It needs nothing, basically, if you're just wanting to putt around in or get to and fro work. It would make a great first car, or second. Mileage are sure to be in excess of odometer, but it is showing 136,690. The previous owner, believe it or not, is still alive and working on Mercedes'..as a matter of fact, he's my neighbor. He is a retired Mercedes technician, whose wife drove this car for a good 15 years. I have been driving it for the past 7.With age being the factor here..some items may be undesirable, mainly: Interior, Paint, Front windshield, (a small crack on it that has been there since I bought it). BUT, the tires are brand new. There is no A/C, unless you consider rolling down the windows, which is what I have always done. We had considered turning it into a biodiesel, but don't have time...it would be perfect for it. The clean title is in hand, ready to transfer to new owner. But do note that this Mercedes is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel the auction early at any time. We have tried to the best of our ability, to describe this car's condition, the good and bad. Do remember that this vehicle is 35 years old and has high mileage, (though it's a diesel), we cannot express or imply in any way a warranty. It is sold AS-IS, where-is, condition.
