Vehicle Detail

First off I am selling this car for my parents. They are an older couple and don't have the time or patience for computers, eBay or selling cars. What we have here is a 1993 Ford Crown Victoria that's been in our family since new in 1993. My parents drove the car up until this past March when during snow my dad rounded a corner in the snow and hit the front end into another car. It has sat being started occasionally to keep things lubricated. They have been uncomfortable driving it since it was hit. Because of this and the age of the vehicle and the way insurance companies do things these days, it most likely would be written off as totaled, so they have replaced the car with another and asked me to get rid of this one for them. They feel the expense of getting a car this old repaired at the rates shops charge these days just isn't worth it. Even though it has been a very good car to them and hate to see it go. And anyone who knows anything about Crown Vics knows they are good cars and ride like sail boats. There's not much like them on the road these days. There wasn't anything wrong with the car when it was hit, other than the radio antenna didn't work on it's own. The tires are in good shape with a full size spare still in the trunk with plenty of tread left on them all. The engine as stated before was running fine with no leaks and just recently there was a new wiper motor installed within the past 6 months I believe it was. The interior is in good shape with no tears or rips in the seats. The headliner still looks like new. Drivers door is a little dirty along with the carpet, but nothing that can't be easily cleaned. Other than front end damage the rest of the car body is in pretty good shape and after doing a walk around no dents jumped out at me. There may be one or two there I missed, I didn't go over it with a magnifying glass and after all I'm not perfect and it is a 22 year old car. Clear coat is a bit worn in places over the car also. Those spots are noticeable in the photos. The car does have the V8, A/T, COLD A/C, am-fm cassette, rear defroster, power locks, power windows, and remote (locking) trunk release (in drivers) door. To the best of my knowledge everything works as it should except the antenna as mentioned before. The battery currently in the car will not be going with it. I can give you one to use as a core to buy a new one, but this one stays here. Your welcome to come look at the car on appointment. It no longer has plates, tags or insurance though, so no test drives. Your welcome to start it up, check out how the transmission shifts and even move it back and forth in about a 35ft driveway, but I can't risk anyone taking it out on the roads and getting into an accident with it or causing property damage. This is of course a buy as-is sale. I'll answer all questions as quickly as I can but please understand I don't live on the internet, but when listing something on eBay I do try to check email as often as I can. Those I don't know the answer to I will get you the answers as quickly as I can. Please understand we all have different work schedules though and sometimes there may be a delay on getting that answer from my parents. Update June 15: I should have stated also. There is NO rust on the car. I didn't even see any surface rust. On Jun-17-15 at 04:59:31 PDT, seller added the following information: To clarify. My grandfather bought this car new and originally had it titled. When my parents took ownership of it, they titled it in their names, which is why it is listed as having two owners. But it has been in our family since new.On Jun-19-15 at 08:48:12 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE June 19:::: Sorry for this late of an update in the auction but as I see it better late than not at all. I just found out this morning that the rear drivers side window doesn't work. It sounds as if it has come off the track. I can hear the motor whirling, but the window doesn't make an effort to move. It is in the up position, just won't come down. I also discovered that the remote mirror switch --in the drivers door--(pictured now) is loose and is missing it's cover. It also isn't working. I didn't noticed this before and when I listed the car was told everything was working. I apologize.I went ahead and checked everything else I could think of while I was there and the right head light doesn't work, along with the right turn signals (both front and rear). Right rear break light however does work. Everything else checked out alright though. A/C works, radio cuts on, not sure about tape deck, ran it through the gears again, that went okay. The the engine seems to be lumbering now after it runs for a bit though. It didn't do this two weeks ago when I first looked the car over and took the photos to list it for my parents, but then again I didn't let it run as long the first time. It also started making a noise like someone's stuffed a rag over a horn and started honking it. That's the best way I can describe it and only started doing this after it's been running a while. I am uploading a video to Youtube of it. I will try including a link in this listing if ebay will allow it. If not just search 1993 Crown vic engine running part 1 and 2. Part 1 is from start up, part 2 is of the noise it started making right after I cut the camera off and started filming again to capture it so you would know what it is doing. As of right now, it's taking forever to upload this video so I am going ahead with posting these changes to this listing and when the video is online will add the link.I am trying to show you all of the car and not hide anything. I want you to know what you are bidding on and again apologize for these late notices about these faults. I should have inspected the car myself a little more carefully. On Jun-19-15 at 10:18:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Part 1 video https://youtu.be/-f6aWAmXuUs Part 2 video https://youtu.be/jif9osEN0hw a/c cutting on and off video https://youtu.be/ALnXSD6Dqz8
