Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my wife's toy, we are going to move to a 2nd gen firebird as the weekend toy. This corvette has been stored indoors its whole life and it shows. Below are the items that I have replaced since we have had it. I am also being (overly) honest about the items that do not fully work. They just haven't been items that we needed to fix to enjoy the car, so I haven't bothered. I do have most of the parts to do those repairs included. Also included but not shown is a "bra" that came with the car that I removed. You can decide if you want to put it back on. I included one of the pictures from the original owner showing the bra so you get an idea of what it looked like. All the other pictures are recent. One other thing with the car is I can hear a "clunk" - its very faint, and only on hard braking. I took it to a shop and they immediately said front ball joints. So I ordered them up, and was going to change them - when I checked them - they weren't bad. I cannot find any play in any bushings, ball joints, tie rods, nothing. Its all tight and the car drives straight and tight. But - included with the car is also a complete set of ball joints that I never used. This is a cloth interior car, and the interior is in excellent shape. Targa top not cracked and seals well. Stock delco Bose radio works, and so does the power antenna. I had the A/C working, but one of the O-rings on the condenser started leaking. I converted it to R134A. Needs the o-ring replaced and a vacuum/recharge for it to start working again. Car has aftermarket alarm with remote start and 2 remotes. Starts, runs, drives great. Brakes are great, drives straight, handles great. Parts replaced/repaired in the last year: Radiator, A/C condenser, plugs, wires, numerous engine gaskets, tires, wheels, brake pads and rotors, A/C hoses, rear latch mechanism, fuel pump and strainer, ignition switch assembly, 4 calipers, master cylinder, full transmission rebuild with new 2800 stall converter, new battery. Negative items (none of them need to be fixed to enjoy the vehicle)ABS sensors (very common on these cars, most people pull the fuse like I did)Drivers side headlight motor rebuild. (parts included, we never drive at night)Typical C4 Corvette digital dash (when cold, sometimes you have to slap the top of the dash for it to light up.) This car is in excellent shape. The odometer reads 101,000. The previous owner claimed he switched the dash and the car only has 80K, but I cannot verify. Titles in Illinois read odometer exempt over 10 years old, so no way to tell. The car is SUPER clean underneath, so it presents as a low mileage, well maintained car. Although we put the car in several car shows, cruise nights, etc - its not a 100 point show car. There are a few chips and dings in the paint, nothing major, but it is almost 30 years old and original. The tires and wheels are brand new 17" racing wheels with new lugs. Transmission rebuilt by Atomic trans in Villa Park. Extra strong rebuild kit with heavy duty parts, and a new 2800 stall converter. Car runs down the road great, has flowmaster mufflers with chrome tips. This is a great car, one of the nicest Ive seen, and I priced to to just sell quick. Please - no games, no liars or cheats. I have been overly honest in my description and pictures, message me if you have any further questions. Thanks!
