The story of the car and its condition when it was renewed supports the odometer. The car was restored in the winter of 2010/2011 at the private garage of a large antique car collector in Canton Ohio. The car was found in a barn at the Hale Farm and Village at the Eastern Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland. It had become the property of the curator, Siegfried Buerling after the Crawford Auto Museum had no use for it. Siegfried had licensed the car for a short while for his wife in 2008. She put about 2000 miles on the car but found it “too old and too small”. It came to the Crawford Museum by the way of Kenilworth Illinois sometime in the late 90’s, early 00’s. It is unclear to me how it came into the possession of the museum but it had 8,795 miles on it when it arrived in Ohio. Copies of all the titles come with the car. It was purchased new by the Marjorie and Robert Warren of Kenilworth Illinois. They paid $2196.96. Based on the records that I have and that come with the car, it appears to have spent its entire life at 240 Kenilworth Ave, Kenilworth Illinois, at least through 1996. The property at 240 Kenilworth was raised sometime around 2000 and has been replaced by a mansion. The street number of the home has been retired. The story has it that the husband died about a year after the purchase of the car and Marjorie just did not drive it much after that. Based on the records in the binder, it got a new battery in 1979, and a new battery in 1988 and a new battery in 1996. It was still plated and registered for use in 1996 but the renewal sticker was not used on the vehicle and comes in the binder. There are many factory tags and stickers still on the vehicle and it retains most all of its original undercoat. There is virtually no rust on the car. The interior of the car is exactly as it was found with the seat belt wrappers from the factory still in place. Siegfried had verbally confirmed that the back seat had never been sat in. The papers that come with the car were all found in the glove box along with the owners manual and a 1996 Bauer and Black first aid kit. There was also a clip on Kleenex box hold on the Drivers visor which is still there. Call or text me at 309-287-7527 with questions.
