Vehicle Detail

1954 Jaguar XK-120 Drop Head Coupe LEFT HAND DRIVE CHASSIS NUMBER: S 677044 ENGINE NUMBER: W 8036-8S BODY NUMBER: P 1047 GEARBOX NUMBER: JL 16197 Here for sale is one of the most beautifully restored 1954 Jaguar XK-120 Drop Head Coupes, in the distinctive color combination of Silver/blue metallic exterior, Black interior & Black soft top. The car is a “Special Equipment” or “M” model as they were called by US dealers: with high-lift cams, stronger suspension and wire wheels. It has a 3.4 liter engine and 4-speed manual gearbox. All numbers match the original data plate and JDHT Certificate. This remarkable vehicle is one of only 1471 Left Hand Drive DHCs built during the entire production run of the XK-120, and of those, only 706 were Special Equipment models, which makes this one of the most rare XK-120s. Prior to restoration, the car was in outstanding condition, so it was an excellent candidate to be restored. Imagine cruising through summer in this classic beauty! The absolutely complete and thorough restoration included: New front suspension bushings New front & rear suspension rebound bumpers New GAZ front shocks New rear shock link arms New upper & lower ball joints New wheel bearings and seals New rear spring leather gaiters 4 New tires and tubes New chrome knockoffs New brake wheel cylinders (front and rear) New brake dual master cylinder New brake stop light switch New brake lines New brake hoses New fuel tank sender New in-tank fuel filter New fuel pump Carburetors rebuilt Water pump rebuilt Harmonic damper rebuilt New wiring harnesses New tri-bar headlamps New Lucas driving lights New tail lights New convertible top New chrome pin beading New head liner New interior kit with Wilton wool, carpets New weather-stripping throughout Re-porcelained exhaust manifolds New Bell stainless steel exhaust system Cam covers and water rail polished New extensive chrome re-plating New burled walnut veneer in all appropriate interior areas New metal floor panels New battery boxes New 12-volt battery (easily returned to twin 6-volt units) New Baltic birch floor boards New Baltic birch boot boards New bumpers (front & rear) 6 new pistons, rings and pins (+030) New main and rod bearings (+010) New small end bushings 12 new valves New valve springs New tappet hold-down set (Inlet and exhaust) New timing chains and tensioners New gaskets, seals and pilot bushing New starter & dynamo brushes New complete clutch: (drive plate, driven plate, release bearing) Resurfaced flywheel New windscreen rubber New screen washer unit Clock rebuilt (it actually works) This car has a clear Ohio title and comes with the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate as well as a DVD of the complete photo record…over 500 pictures before, during and after restoration as well as scans of receipts. Here is a YouTube link to a brief video of the car: http://youtu.be/eQ4FdZMy1ic Feel free to email me with any and all questions. If you need a specific photo, just ask me and I’ll take it. If you are close to the Cincinnati area and want to see the car in person, I’ll be happy to accommodate you. I reserve the right to end this auction early if the car is sold via other avenues. PLEASE bid on this car ONLY if you are serious about owning it and have the funds available! Payment is due in full within 5-days after the end of the auction and a $1,000.00 non-refundable down payment is required within 24-hours of the end of bidding. This beautiful car is sold “as is, where is” with no warranty expressed or implied…it is, after all, a 60-year old car! Buyer is responsible for all shipping, transport costs and/or customs details, though I shall be happy to work with an auto transport firm of your choice. My reserve price is most reasonable, so this is a wonderful opportunity to get a beautifully restored, fully functional Jaguar XK-120 DHC in pristine condition. From a classic car standpoint, this is a remarkable and rare example of the iconic Jaguar XK-120 Drop Head Coupe, the rarest of all versions of the XK-120. From a financial standpoint, this car’s value is only going to appreciate in the future and so is a practical addition to one’s portfolio. Few investments compare with classic cars for future growth as well as immediate pleasure of ownership. Thank you for looking and best of luck!
