This clean, straight, and dealer-maintained 2003 Toyota MRS Spyder boasts impeccable condition and a wide array of high-end performance parts. With just 41k miles on the Spyder, the car presents much as it did the day it rolled off the assembly line. Perhaps best of all, the car’s recent and considerable upgrades over stock were ordered by the current doctor owner whose busy schedule has resulted in a perfectly tuned car that has never been tracked or crashed and has spent the majority of its time under a car cover in the garage. Bought used by the current owner—a lover of British sports cars who wanted something more reliable—this red MRS spyder was immediately taken to the local Charleston Toyota dealer for a comprehensive inspection, tune-up and list of recommended mods. The dealership’s service manager acknowledged the fine condition of the car and put together a list of modifications that would improve the car’s sporting character without compromising its usability or reliability. To that end, the current owner then ordered, and had qualified technicians install, a PPE high-flow header and catalytic converter, a stainless steel Moon cat-back exhaust system, a Toyota Racing Development rear stiffening brace, and an AEM cold air intake and high-flow air filter. Then the owner contracted a local company to fine-tune the setup on their rolling dyno. The result is an MRS Spyder with a pleasantly aggressive (but not droning or loud) exhaust sound, an increased acceleration rate, and a dramatically improved throttle response. This then, is the ideal car for anyone looking for a fast, well-balanced ride that is as comfortable in daily traffic as it is dicing around orange autocross cones.
