Desireable 1966 Ford Thunderbird Town Landau, project car, for sale. This is a heavily optioned, top of the line Thunderbird from 1966. Virtually every option was checked off for this car, except convertible top. 428 engine, leather interior with passenger headrest, 4 speaker stereo, highway pilot cruise control, original floormats etc. This car is mid-restoration. To use a football analogy, this car is on the 5 yard line, you will need to 'get it into the endzone' or complete the project. Way too much stuff done, to list it all. My vision for this car was to make a 1966 Special Landau edition, that Ford never offered. They made one in 1965, but not '66. You could still get the options, just not the special badging. I have added the Special Landau door panel logos and C pillar trims from the 65 model. This car is prepped for Ford Emberglo paint color (change). The trunk, engine compartment, gas filler door, and door sills have all been 'cut in' and painted emberglo. The trunk, interior and engine bay are all perfect, nearly immaculate and restored. Car is not running, at this time! Here is what the car needs: starter (included) rear shocks and sway bar (included) full stainless exhaust (included). I have rebuilt the top end of the engine, due to stuck valves from the previous owner. 'In theory' this car needs to have the new starter installed, add gas (tank has been drained) and driven! Pertronix electronic ignition installed, newer battery, new alternator. Electronic sequential tail lights, upgrade installed. New master cylinder, brakes flushed. New carpets, electronic tach (no holes drilled). Extra rear seat belt added. All new weatherstripping, installed, and complete! The blog pics should detail everything that has been done. Please ask questions! Two sets of wheels, the modern 7 spokes, pictured, I also have the original steel wheels with two sets of wheel covers. Both the standard 1966 wheel covers and the 1965 deluxe covers, with emberglo accents. Two sets of side skirts included, one set with the stainless steel trim pieces. Brand new passenger side mirror included.$400 oval air cleaner and 428 bird emblem - impossible to find! If you don't like the resto-mod look, I have all of the original parts, for a concours type of presentation. New reproduction numbered plug wires, original air cleaner, all of it. The tan/buckskin Landau top is perfect, and 100% original! You can't get vinyl this wide anymore! 8 speaker modern MP3 stereo installed, with spare tire subwoofer, all completely hidden, for a completely stock look! The body is in great shape for a 50 year old car, but it will need some very minor body work, and paint, of course. I have in excess of $10K invested, so this is a steal! When this car is completed, it will easily be worth $12K, at a minimum. Original Ford (Emminger) invoice and replica window sticker, in a leather case, included, with all receipts. These are getting harder and harder to find, in good condition. No Trades. Reasonable offers will be considered. Some pictures in the auction are in progress, and are now not accurate.
