Vehicle Detail
1950 Dodge Coronet in very good shape. Rust free car, original Montana car, 4th owner. 93,900 original miles (on body). 383 Dodge Charger Big Block conversion with Torqflite 727 auto trans with shift kit (used, out of a 1966 Coronet), aluminum radiator, Edelbrock 1405 carb, Performer 383 manifold, glass pack exhaust with H-pipe, Taurus electric fan, 8.8 Ford posi rear end. Front disc conversion (Camaro Brakes), power brake master cylinder, excellent interior, hidden ipod conversion to factory radio with modern speakers and amp, all new 15 circuit wiring (12V conversion). Cavalier rack and pinion steering conversion (manual rack, but I have the u-joint for a power version which is a direct drop in that you can have), lowered 3-4", new carpet, seat belts, auto floor shifter, ididit steering column using original steering wheel, Jegs hot rod heater, custom made traction bars, new shocks, Jegs line lock for smokey burnouts if desired, and more. All interior gauges are hooked up (Speedo, oil pressure, temperature, fuel) except the clock (just needs a 6v converter added, I have it) and ammeter (Speedo is connected to the 727 and is within a few % even). Nice interior that was reupholstered in the early 2000's (could use some minor re-tacking in a few spots, but nothing serious). Paint job is decent (not a show car paint job, older single stage repaint) it looks like it is oxidizing (see pics) but I had a detail shop look at it and it turns out it's old wax that is turning chalky and can be removed fairly easily (I plan to remove it my self if time allows). So it can be shined up better or you could do a forced patina, or just repaint if you like. Molding is all there, some pieces could use straightening and a couple could use new clips. It's lived in a garage. A fun little sleeper. It's not a show car but a very good shape older car that has been modified to be a fun driver and a fun project. Probably best suited for someone who likes to work on and improve cars. I drive it to work at least once a week when the weather is nice. Things still left to do as it is an ever evolving project, here are a few I can think of: hook up original horns (I have them and wiring is already run) Small coolant leak out of thermostat housing (I also have a brand new hi flow aluminum water pump housing for it, which is why I haven't bothered with the leak yet) Transmission pan has a slow leak (looks like it's just from the gasket) Fuel gauge recently started jumping around a little, pretty sure it's the 12 to 6v converter going flakey (I have another new converter). Ignition key works on drivers side door, but not passenger side, pretty sure it just needs to be looked at by a locksmith. Trunk lock works with it's key as well. From what I can tell, it has had some bondo used in the right rear fender (not much, I dont see evidence on the backside of fender) and a spot on the front of the hood about quarter sized. Some nicks in paint here and there, but no dents. I expect the buyer to have some feedback history. If you have less than 10 transactions, please contact me first. Thanks. Although this car is in good running condition with no issues known other than the ones I have mentioned, it is 65 years old and is modified. Due to the nature of pre-owned vehicles, this vehicle is sold as is without warranty. Inspections are welcome by appointment.
