1967 Other Makes 106 Super Sport

This is a 1967 Gilera 106 SS. It is a nice survivor . It is a lot of fun to ride. These bikes were sold by Sears during the late 60’s so parts are still available here for most things you might need. This particular bike has a different type of gas tank from most of the Sears bikes I have seen and I think it looks a bit more stylish. This bike has a 106cc engineI l rode it to work serval times which is an approximately 38 mile round trip. It gets ridden regularly for errands around town as well. I am a big guy but the bike would still cruise at around 50mph with me as the rider. I smaller person would probably be able to get a bit more out of it. I think the manual claims a top speed of 67 mph. This is a very simple and reliable bike. It usually starts on the first or second kick. I have given it a good going over by installing new tubes and tires, cleaning the carb, adjusting the points, etc. so it is ready for the next person to just get on and ride. That being said it is an old classic bike, so while it has been reliable for me it is not going to be the same thing as a new modern motorcycle. It has a few paint scratches here and there but It just seemed too good to totally tear down and restore. Cosmetically. I left it as I found it. This bike has a clear title in my name so no funny business with an open title from 1968 or anything. It really would be a nice Moto Giro bike. It just rides along smoothly, it is very light weight and holds to road well . I am selling this bike because my daughter likes to ride with me and the seat is really too small for both of us to fit on comfortably.
