Hello All. We are selling a nice 1996 VW Passat TDI Diesel Sedan, I have owned several there cars and they are truly remarkable. They can easily average 50 MPG, and more often than not you will run out of gas long before the TDI does. This is a 2 owner car that appears to 99% rust free, with a small patch surface rust rite behind left front wheel where some rust proofing has come off. The car starts, runs and drives, I have only taken it on a very short drive and everything seems to be as it should. I will say as you accelerate the yellow check engine light will come on, and go off at idle. I had the same issue in another one of these, and it turned out to be a vacum leak in one of the lines leading to the computer.Other things to mention the headliner is missing, the exterior driver door handle is loose, and the seam in the rear passenger seat is split. Last, the ODOMETER, SPEEDOMETER , and TACHOMETER DO NOT WORK. so true miles unknown. The last know miles can be seen on AUTO-CHECK at 108,000 in 2008. I have a copy of the report I can email, the report shows no accidents. And I have clear title in hand.I have taken a pic with the key on and with the engine running. I am a dealer that buys bulk lot of cars from a charity and this is one of them. On a scale of 1-10, and 10 being the highest I would give the car a 7. Good body, interior and runs/drives, with some clear coat coming off roof and trunk. Could use some maintenance, cleaning, TLC. There were no records of timing belt work with the car.
