Vehicle Detail

1970 MG, MGB, Chrome Bumpers, Wire Wheels, Runs very well and looks good for a 45 year old British Sports Car. The Red paint is a bit faded but in good shape comes with 2 Full Tonneau Covers. New Top (no rips or holes), Battery, Starter, Steering Box, Tie Rod ends, Texas Cooler Fan. Tires and wire wheels good, tight steering, good shifting 4 speed transmission, oil cooler, has chrome luggage rack for the trunk (not pictured). Engine rebuilt around 43k, now has about 50k, everything works except odometer and back up lights, leaks oil as expected but not a lot. Inspected, insured and on the road now. A nice driving car, used it to commute to work in the Spring, Summers and for local road trips. On May-20-15 at 14:25:39 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE TO BIDDERS: I was just asked by one bidder about the status of this MGB. There are no liens on this MGB, this is NOT a salvage title car, it has never been in an accident to my knowledge, I have the transferrable registration in hand, I own this car, this is a daily driven car right now, it is registered, inspected, insured by me right now. I hope this answers your questions. I am a straightforward person and this is a straightforward auction. I would not risk my E-bay reputation by making any false claims about this car. On May-21-15 at 05:59:47 PDT, seller added the following information: SECOND NOTE TO BIDDERS: There have been a few questions from bidders which I didn't anticipate, I'm not well versed in selling something as complicated as a car on Ebay. I will attempt to address some concerns. RUST - There is no visible rust on this car. I am sure if you looked closely you could find something. I noted to one bidder that there were holes in the trunk but that the trunk was painted. I looked again this morning and the small holes are actually manufacture holes, round drilled out holes. Not sure what they are for. Someone asked about having POR 15 in the trunk. That trunk paint is regular black, oil-based paint. The Black Stripe on the rocker panel area may be POR 15. I inspected the rocker panels again this morning at the request of a bidder and they are solid on both sides except one spot way underneath the passenger side it feels like some paint is chipping but tapping all along the length of this Black Stripe is a very solid sound. The doors close well so there is no sagging in the chassis that I am aware of. GAS TANK - There was a gas tank leak when I first got this car which happened only when I filled the tank. It was a leak right at the tank seam at the top. I repaired this with gas resistant putty and it has not leaked since then. ELECTRICAL - This is a 12 volt system, original wiring and parts except for the battery, starter and maybe a ground strap. The heater fan switch was also replaced. The radio works and has added speakers underneath the and all lights work except for the back up lights. ENGINE - The previous owner told me the engine was rebuilt. I took that on faith when I purchased it and it has turned out to be true for me. The engine has never given me a problem. Always starts right up - this morning in Rochester it was 45 degrees and it started right up. OVERHEATING - There was a problem, during the hot days of Summer where the car would overheat. I corrected that problem by installing a brand new, brass radiator, new, correct thermostat and a Texas Cooler Fan which is 20% more efficient. I also added a wetting agent to the coolant. All this combined made the car run cooler. OIL USE - This 45 yo British car leaks oil, there always seems to be a tablespoon of oil under the car when parked. Perhaps a new valve cover gasket or a new oil pan gasket would fix this but I have always dealt with it by adding a bit more oil. On a six hour trip once, when we got home I added a half quart of oil. TRANSACTION - I may end this auction early. But if the auction ends with a winning bidder that bidder may reject the deal after looking at the car. I will not complain to ebay about that and I would appreciate it if you not make a formal complaint to ebay about me as the seller, let's try dealing with each other directly. You should have some mechanical skill to own this car so please think before you bid. I would like as happy a new owner as possible.
