Vehicle Detail
First let me say that this is not my car. I am auctioning this 1967 Ford Mustang for a friend who doesn’t do eBay. The car is located in Rockland, Maine. If you would like or need more information please email me and I will do my best to answer your questions. As to myself, I am just a (65) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I recently retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and have worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,111) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia. 1967 represented the first redesign for Mustang. The front grille kept the running pony in the corral, but vertical and horizontal bars returned, and the grille opening was enlarged. The side scoops, though non-functional, were designed as two smaller scoops with inlets and were painted the body color. Despite the body style change, coupes, fastbacks, and convertibles were still offered, but the fastback in 1967 extended fully to the rear, giving the car a beefier look than the shorter fastbacks used in 1965 and 1966. The 1967 Mustang appears larger (two and a half inches wider and a half inch taller) if not more aggressive. A majority of the restyling occurs below the beltline (except of course for the fastback, which has the roofline taper to the edge of the rear deck). Wider track, deeper grille with a rectangular mesh insert, more prominent side sculpting and a stepped deck lid with concave taillights are only a few of the year's styling changes. Total U.S. Production: 472,121 Chevrolet Camaro, Mercury Cougar, Pontiac Firebird, and Plymouth Barracuda were all in Mustang's class in 1967, cutting into Mustang's sales figures. Still, Mustang outsold its nearest competitor, Cougar, by a three-to-one margin. You can see the video here: As you can see in the photos and video, this Mustang is quite nice. Knowing that you can pretty much build a Mustang from the catalogs today, this would be a very inexpensive introduction into the Mustang market. Overall, the Mustang is very solid and starts, runs, drives and stops with no issues. The undercarriage is very clean as you can see in the photos with only minor rust issues that I can see. The interior is in good condition but not perfect. The engine compartment is in good condition with no issues with the shock towers. Originally a 200ci I6 engine car, the Mustang now is home to a 302ci, 4BBL engine which was rebuilt and is quite smart and sounds great. As you will hear in the video, the 302 engine has no funny noises or sounds and purrs like a kitten. It does have a mild cam as indicated by the lopy sound when idling. The brakes work fine with no pulling or squeaking. The tires and rims are good with what I believe to be the original style wheel covers. Looking in the trunk, I notice there is not a spare or jack assembly. However, overall the trunk is very clean. I will mention again, for the reserve price this car is selling for, this Mustang would make a great investment and will not break the bank for the individual who wants to become part of the popular Pony car world. In addition to the Mustang, the winning bidder will receive another hood if they so desire but transport of the hood will be the buyer’s responsibility and packaging of the hood will not be an option. There are areas of bubbling on the car that could be addressed by the new owner. The Mustang has new chrome front and rear bumpers with new tail light bezels and a new gas cap Ford Mustang enclosure. The bright work is considered to be in average condition. The door handles and outside mirror do have pitting. All of the glass appears to be in good condition with no cracks. The headlights, tail lights, brake lights and blinkers all work. Rims are good with good rubber on the tires. The wheel covers appear to be original but are only in fair condition. Interior: Black bucket seats, rear seat, door panels, headliner, sun visors and dash (some sagging but no rips) are in good condition. Carpet is faded but is in good condition. Nice JVC stereo/CD player connected to speakers in the aftermarket package tray that includes dual speakers and a center brake light. All gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge which works off and on. Engine Compartment: Clean with rebuilt 302 4bbl engine. Trunk: Clean with no spare and jack assembly. Undercarriage: Very solid overall with some areas of rust. The front end has had some work. The H-pipe dual exhaust is in very good condition with chrome tips exiting in the rear. Brakes work very nice. ID Photos: I highly recommend that serious buyers come themselves or send an agent to see this car in person. I am an individual and do not claim to know everything there is to know about these cars. FYI: There is no Maine title for this 1967 Mustang as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old. I have sold cars all over the country as well as Canada, England, Switzerland and Australia and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, the Maine registration signed over to the new owner and a copy of the Maine law regarding titles which is on a form issued by the Maine Motor Vehicle Department THANKS FOR READING THIS AD. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING.
