Please read entire ad at least one time.. This is the ultimate build for the SERIOUS Jeep enthusiast, 2008 Jeep Wrangler that has been totally decked out top to bottom!! Regardless if you just want the ultimate urban assault vehicle or a bug-out vehicle for the next zombie apocalypse look no further! This Jeeps Cummins lights up with a bump of a key, It runs like a sowing machine built with american iron and burns diesel fuel. It drives as good and better than most completely stock jeep JK's. It shifts as smooth as silk with no grinds or noises at all. If you are thinking about building one buy one thats done... This is the best of the best and it shows... Everywhere we go people ask questions and take pictures. Let's run over some of the modifications, first off the heart of this beast. It is a four cylinder 3.9 Cummins turbo diesel. (Also known as a 4BT). I bought the engine as a remanufactured engine from Cummins. I got it as a long block with no injection pump or turbo. I purchased a brand-new not rebuilt injection pump at that time. ( ve rotary) before installing the injection pump I had a 3000 RPM governor spring installed so it would make it more highway friendly.I also choose a HX30 turbocharger as my research indicated they were the best all-around turbo this engine and application. It spools by 1200 rpm and has a nice flat curve. The motor and some other things was installed by Autoworks diesel technology is in Bloomington Indiana, They specialized in this type of thing and did a great job. One of my biggest concerns was to not modify the jeep more than necessary to get this engine in it. They suggested I give diesel adapters a call. I spent $2000 and got a 4BT to jeep transmission adapter. It came with a machined adaptor and a custom flywheel that would allow all original jeep clutch stuff. This allows the cummins motor to mate up to the original Jeep transmission. I was told the original six speed NSG 370 was a decent transmission with the underpowered gas engine, it would have a short life behind the Cummins. They suggested using a NV3550 used in the 03 up jeep TJs with the 4.0,I bought a brand-new nv3550 transmission from their advice. The only thing that had to be modified on the frame to get the engine to mount was the motor mounts. Basically the entire driveline is stock jeep. NO drive shafts or transmission mounts were touched. I heard many stories about bad vibrations from these little engines. Their engine must have been incorrectly installed or they were just stories because mine has little to no vibration even at idle. Here is a basic list of the modifications that's been done to the jeep. Cummins 3.9 turbo diesel Hx30 turbo, 37/13.50.16 superswamper radials (less than 300 miles) on 16x10 Rock crawlers with 32 bolt rings, 6.5 long arm suspension liftHad 4.10 Gears installed ( matches factory gearing with 37" tires ) , front inner and rear Yukon axles, Limited slip rear end, Open frontNew NV3350 transmission np241 rubicon transfer case 4:1, smittybilt front and rear bumpers, 10k lb mile marker 2 speed hydraulic winch, Uninstalled ARB snorkel, sound bar with amplifier, Autometer gauges, ( pyro, water, voltage, boost, oil pressure) halo head lights, Bush Wacker fenders and a few other things. The jeep is an absolute pleasure to drive, it has very good road and highway manners. You do NOT have to fear any death wobble at any speed on any bump at any time.. Steering is very tight with no play. It does not pull left or right while traveling at 70 miles an hour plus on the highway. All the lift was done right and was done as a kit. It rides just as good as a stock jeep does. I know it looks like its ready to go on a world wide expedition but we built it for 99% highway use.. The jeep gets a honest 25 to 26 miles per gallon average. The interior is very nice for the mileage with no rips in the seats. The body is very nice and I would say near flawless other than the light branch marks from driving on fire roads with the wife and kids. Its never been wrecked or had any paint work done. paint is very clean and nice for a 8 year old jeep. Its been adult owned and well take care of. The jeep is from Texas that has absolutely zero rust!!! The frame is so clean you could eat off it.... I hate rusty stuff! This jeep does need a few things touched up, While it is an excellent daily driver as is, it does have a few things that I would have done before taking it to say a jeep show or across the country. 1. It has a oil leak coming from the turbo drain tube, 2. shifter boot has a small 1" tear by shifter rod3. Some of the wires under the hood need cleaned up and cut out, Many of them are original wires from the original engine. I left the factory computers and all the wiring harness in the jeep just in case I ever wanted to go back to the gas motor. I wanted to put all wires in looms and re route some of them. 4. After putting the transfer case in I noticed my speedometer no longer work and it still doesn't. Less than 1000 miles have been put on it during this time.5. Some of the gauges don't work on the factory dash, The water temperature oil pressure and speedometer do not work. ( that being said I have aftermarket autometer gauges hooked up for oil pressure and water temp) ( The tachometer works fine) The cluster also needs a bunch of the lightbulbs removed because it has all kinds of check engine lights mainly because the original engine is no longer in it obviously. ALSO ( tire pressure light, abs, traction control, and a couple others.. there are now completely useless...)The Cummins Engine only has really about three wires it even needs. Well technically it only requires one 12 V wire to run.It starts with a turn of a key just like normal.6. Lastly the air conditioner does not work all the air-conditioner is there but the compressor is not mounted to the engine. Other than just some minor touch ups it's completely ready to go we drive it nearly every day. If the new owner is a bit of a tinker as myself none of these will be of any concern.. If you can change spark plugs you can finish everything on this.. Again the jeep runs and drives absolutely perfect you will be able to drive it home anywhere. Or fly in and it drive home.. If you don't feel like driving at home you can have it shipped I will assist in that in anyway I can. I hold a clean clear indiana title in my hand.. No liens or brands... CLEAN TITLE! LASTLY... why are we selling??? simple.. I blew all our extra money on this over the winter, My wife and i have two young kids and we think we would like to buy a nice pontoon boat or a house boat. Sadly we cannot afford both so this has got to go.
