I purchased this car in early April 2015 from the adult son of a guy with whom I work. He purchased it brand new for his son when he graduated college. He kept it in his name for a few years, then transferred the title over to the son. Bottom line, the son is the original owner since new, and he is the one that sold it to me, which is why I advertised it as a 2-owner car. A Carfax report will be provided upon request. My plan was to fix it up and use it as a fun car, but I realized quickly that I simply don’t have the time. Too many other things to do. Besides, I already have another project car, so this wasn’t the most popular purchase with the wife. Anyway, right after purchasing it, I replaced one of the tires (it had a sidewall puncture), replaced the front and rear brake pads, the power steering line, the strut "stiffener" plates, and changed the oil. Because of my busy schedule, those simple fixes took two weekends. I suspect it also needs a steering rack, something that I’m not inclined to try to replace myself, even if I did have time. It also has some rust on the rear doors, as it was driven frequently to and from a house the family has at the beach. There’s also a slight exhaust rattle, which I believe is coming from the exhaust finisher. I’m not sure what else it needs because I haven’t had the time to dig into it. My loss is your gain and the reserve it set low enough to allow the purchaser to get this rather unique car for a reasonable price. I can provide a Carfax report upon request. Again, you will see three owners as I explained above. The car has never been in any kind of accident that I’m aware of. The owner lived in PA, and I live in NJ. It still has the PA inspection; I never got it inspected in NJ. The original changed the oil regularly and always used synthetic since new. From what I can tell, the car is mostly stock, except for the power steering cooler line, and a Mazdaspeed short ram intake. The car has lightweight Enkei Bortex wheels and Continental tires with good tread on them. The paint is in decent shape, with the exception of some surface rust on the wheel wells, pitting, rock chips, and scrapes – all of which are shown in the pictures. Inspection Pre-buyer inspections are welcome. However, it may be driven/inspected by appointment only. Buyer agrees to pay for all inspection fees/charges that may apply. Payment A non-refundable $500.00 USD deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end via bank wire or cashier’s check. Final details of remaining payment will be worked out through email/phone contact. Shipping The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, although local pickup is preferred. On Apr-28-15 at 07:41:05 PDT, seller added the following information: The timing chain, guides, tensioner, VVT gear, and valve cover gasket were replaced by the Mazda dealer at approximately 72k miles. I have the receipt for this work.On Apr-30-15 at 05:27:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I met with the original owner yesterday. He gave me receipts for various maintenance that was done to the car over the years, along with the original window sticker. These items will be turned over to the buyer.
