Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 2001 Chevy S10 ZR2. I bought this truck two and a half years ago as a reliable source of transportation to replace my 1987 S10 with 298,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of this truck and have put roughly 23,000 miles on it so far. The truck currently has 193,600 miles on it. Mechanically, the truck is in very good shape. I change the oil in it every 3,000 miles and it burns about half a quart in that time. The only issue that I know of with the truck is that the cruise control doesn’t work. This is a recent problem and I have not had the time to look into it. Other than that, everything works well in the truck. I looked for one of these ZR2 trucks for a couple years. They were a type of super duty S10 designed for off road enthusiasts. They had a wider stance with factory flares. The ball joints and bearings are bigger as well as the longer lower control arms. The rear section of the frame is boxed and shares the same size rear differential as a half ton pickup with a locker. They also have a rear panhard bar to keep the rear axle in alignment as it articulates. I loved the truck so much payed 4,300 to have some minor dents and dings fix and have the entire truck disassembled and re-painted a year and a half ago so it would look like new. The body shop used RM - Diamount for the base and clear coat (the gallon of base coat alone was 750, I was shown the invoice). The interior isn’t perfect but is clean and still in good shape for the age. I’ve put thousands into this truck since I bought it. I thought I was going to keep the truck for years to come, but I now need a truck that can tow my car to and from the track in an inclosed trailer so beefy a S10 doesn’t have the towing capacity I need. I also work a lot closer and no longer need a truck that gets better fuel milage. Below you will find a list of things I did to try and turn my 13 year old truck into a new one. I had the entire front suspension rebuilt with parts made in the USA, then the truck had a laser alignment. I had all the oil lines replaced to the cooler and to the remote mount oil filter. The truck had all the brake pads and rotors replaced. New right rear brake caliper. New front axles. New four wheel drive vacuum pod. Tires are still about 80 percent. I put a rubberized plastic bed liner in it. Truck is wired for flat four and 7 pin trail plug. Truck has a new fuel pump, sending unit, fuel filter and central infection unit complete with new injectors. I had new bushing put in the door hinges when the truck was painted. I had the 3rd door window replaced when painted (weatherstrip didn't look nice) Over all the truck was in no means of disrepair when I bought it. At the time I didn't want a payment on a new truck, so fixing this truck seemed to be a wonderful idea, till my OCD kicked in and I spent thousands on it. With this in mind, I hope my repairs will put anyone at ease when considering buying my truck. It’s been a good truck and stone reliable, but as I stated earlier I no longer have a need for it. Please feel free to ask and questions though eBay, and I will provide my cell phone number to people who are seriously interested only. I encourage people to look at the vehicle in person as I would want to do. I will do my best to arrange times when I will be home for a preview. I will also help with shipping to the best of my ability, but I can not deliver this vehicle long distances away. As far as payment, the buyer will have a week to pay me for the vehicle or leave a respectable deposit. I will provide a receipt with a copy of the title until the vehicle is payed for in full, at that time the receipt will be marked payed and the title will be handed over to the new owner. I will only accept cash, post office money order or paypal. I will try and work with the buyer, but I will not bend over backwards trying to get payment stretching out over a long period of time.
