The reserve has now been lowered to better reflect the bidding trends on eBay. Up for Auction is this spectacular low mileage 1979 Mercedes 450SL Grand Touring Roadster. With slightly less than 25000 miles, this is an Arizona car that was in storage for many many years and was later auctioned by the storage facility. Acquired by a couple from Lake Havasu City Arizona, they brought it home but never really drove it much in order to preserve the mileage. They subsequently sold the car about a year ago which now resides in Los Angeles. This car rides and drives beautifully and is very sound mechanically. Its drivetrain with a 4.5 Liter SOHC 16-Valve V8 Engine is tight and is very quiet with no internal noises. Its Three Speed Automatic Transmission is smooth and carries out precise shifts. This 450 is Very Sharp Looking in its Classic White (Ivory) Paint. The Paint is Bright and Very Shiny with a High Luster. The Paint is very Presentable but is not perfect. There is some marring where the hardtop meets the body around the boot and a couple small paint chips or other minor imperfections. This really does not subtract from the beauty of this car. There is a small (BB) size ding on the drivers side door but the paint is not damaged. The ding can be worked out by a “Paintless Repair Guy” also noticeable is a couple imperfections on the top of the grill surround. No other body damage has been noted. The Bright Work as well as the Bumpers and Wheels are Very Nice and shine brightly. This car sits nice and has a good stance. The Medium Blue Interior is very lovely and looks sharp. This is a Bucket Seat Car with Center Arm Rest and Floor Console. The Seats are in excellent condition and show virtually no wear. They have a good feel and are not dried out or wrinkled nor are there any Rips or Tears. The Door Panels are also very nice and are not wrinkled or torn. The Carpet, Console and Wood are also All in great condition. All Knobs and Switches are nice and in good condition. All Lights, Dials and Gauges illuminate and work correctly as they should. This is a Two Top Car which includes the Styled Hardtop and the Beautiful Contrasting Blue Canvas Soft-top. This is the original factory top and it is in excellent condition as well as the rear window which is super clear and not yellowed or hazed. The Engine and Engine Compartment is clean and natural looking as it has never been steam cleaned or detailed. The under hood pad is original and is also super clean. This car shows no leaks underneath. The Chassis and Undercarriage is very nice with beautiful floorboards that are undamaged and rust free. The suspension and all other components are in great shape. The boots on the half shafts are in good shape and are not torn or damaged. All of the Glass is extremely nice with a factory bluish tint that looks very sharp against this color combination. Items recently serviced mostly due to concerns of age: Spark Plugs, Ignition Wires, Cap, Rotor, Oil, Filters, Belts, Hoses & Cooling System. A complete Fuel System service included a complete cleaning of the Fuel Tank, Injection Lines and Injectors, replacing Fuel Filter, Accumulator, Injector Seals, Cones, Fuel Distributor and Warm up Regulator. In addition all of the vacuum lines for engine management have been replaced as well. This car has a clear, clean title and is ready for transfer. It’s current registration expires in Dec 2016. A photocopy of the previous Arizona title that documents the mileage is available and will be included with the paperwork.
